D&D 5E Out of the Abyss IC

Kamael swore, hesitated for just a second to grab a crossbow, then said, "Sorry orc, I would assist ye but I must go after my injured friend.."

He agilely dropped down to the ground floor and cautiously moved off towards the noise. As he did so, nerves somewhat frayed, he mentally prepared to cast an incantation to create a fiery barrier between himself and any enemies..

OOC:
Free Action: grab a loaded crossbow & bolts
Move: I think I can get to U20, if descending costs 15', might be closer to Solace if possible
Action: Ready an action to cast Create Bonfire in between any enemies and myself or Solace, if I see any enemies. If possible, positioning the bonfire adjacent to the aasimar so the enemy can't just run through it but has to stand in it to attack! That being said, prefer to bonfire on rock path and risk enemy running through to bonfire on rope bridge causing destruction of bridge & everyone falling into webs & spiders!

End of Round 8

Kamael leapt down the rope ladder and dashed after Solace. He saw her, bleeding from fresh wounds, just inside the open doorway to the large stalactite. He also spotted the herd of quaggi running amok on a larger stone platform further to the south, along with a drow guard armed with a light crossbow on a narrow rope bridge at the southernmost reach of the outpost.

Jimjar returned to frantically donning armor, and Shuushar made steady progress with his straps and buckles. Out on the platform, the sound of more crossbows firing zinged through the air, and the howls and yelps of anguish continued. The battle grew heated.

OOC: There are daggers in the chest with the short swords, if Raza is interested (it's on her wish list). Her 10 gp is missing, as is her secret insignia of rank. Everything else in her gear is in her pack or the pile and she's got it after her turn this round. Yavathol, I don't think Kamael can see Asha from his current perspective (Asha is inside the stalactite and Solace is blocking the doorway), but I imagine it'd be fairly evident that Solace has recently been injured. You said readied action cast create bonfire, but I don't think Kamael has been able to see the condition trigger's been activated. If you feel otherwise, pipe up and the spell will go off. I just didn't feel comfortable doing it for you at the moment. Kago's up, industrygothica.

Kago continues strapping into his armor. He is moving swiftly, but deliberately. If the others wanted to jump in unprepared that was their problem, but he wouldn't sacrifice himself because of their haste.

Another drow. Of course.

The wound from the attacker's blade pulses down Solace's forearm, but no sooner is the door opened that she deftly pulls it shut. Taking the lock picks she slides them into the locking mechanism, holding the door shut as a barrier, trusting in its wood to keep her safe, and hoping that she doesn't pass out.

OOC: Bonus action: Disengage.
Action: Close door and jam lock picks into the lock mechanism.
(No move. She's keeping the door closed if she at all can.)

OOC:
CB, the readied action won't trigger until there is a space between the aasimar & the enemy for the bonfire to go in (so it can act as a barrier).
KS, why don't you drop back behind me, taking the crossbow & hopefully we can missile her while using the bonfire as the front line?

Round 9

Kago continued putting on armor. Solace stepped just outside the stalactite door, and quickly pulled the door to a close. She jammed her lock picks into the lock until they wouldn't go anymore and was satisfied when she felt Asha tug on the handle, which didn't budge. Kamael was behind her, on the other rope bridge, she realized.

OOC: Brinn's turn, lowkey13. It'll be a Strength DC 15 check for Asha to break through the stalactite door. Unless she's got some magic prepared that might help--and I don't think she does, other than guidance. At the end of Round 10, Shuushar and Jimjar will have on their armor and, in Round 11, will start helping Kago put on his armor. With their help, Kago will have his armor on by the end of his turn on Round 15.

Brinn helped Shuushar and Jimjar with armor. They were nearly done, just a few more seconds ought to do it. The fight between the quaggoths and drow on the platform continued. Asha tried the door in earnest, but failed to open it. Solace's picks held fast.

OOC: Raza's turn, GlassEye.

Raza Thulcandra

Raza picked her items out of the pile. She was particularly pleased to have her scimitar, dagger, and armor back in her possession. She began struggling into the leather and noticed Brinn's glance at her.

"Gird up yer loins, young man. Or perhaps you can help with mine." She cackled and continued working into the armor.
