Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I should not have clicked those articles on Turmeric. I've now altered the algorithm and I'm being told Vitamin D is bad for you (big pharma lies) and 'I'm a pharmacist, avoid these supplements!'

EDIT: Air quality warning due to wildfire smoke. I went out for 5 minutes, came back smelling like a campfire. Great times.
I’ve noticed a lot of white-coated snake oil salesmen online these days. Some even have legit degrees. I always wonder when they became scammers.

Which ones? The AI article drivel, or the ones telling us basic supplements will kill us, but please trust that the side effects are manageable for our latest prescription?

I tend to just ignore the pure scammers, but the ones who legitimately earned some kind of medical degree and STILL tell lies are infinitely more concerning. They have credentials giving them a veneer of credibility, turning any discussion into a battle of experts.

Oh. See I've long given up on our species. I am no longer shocked that a professional, educated, would lie through their teeth openly, even in court!

I'll spare everyone the rest of my rant, it's too hot here but the windows are shut due to the smoke lol

They became scammers the moment they realized that finishing in the bottom of your class is still technically "graduating" and gets you some letters behind your name, but you'll never have the earning potential of someone who excelled.

What really confuses me are the ones who first actually make a legitimate name for themselves, in their profession, and THEN become scammers.

And nutritionists claiming to be virologists.
I always remember that Linus Pauling used to take something like 3000 mg of Vitamin C a day, convinced it would ward away the common cold. Even really respected scientists can fall into quackery. There’s got to be something baked into our DNA at some level that makes us want to think food is the cure-all for what ails you.
