I can do stuff like that.LOL Thanks!
Seriously, though, her memory is amazing. She is in corporate operations and several years ago the CEO at a corporation she used to work at asked the group at an executive meeting if X was in the employee handbook. My wife thought about it a moment and was like, it's on page Y about 3/4 of the way down. She had read that employee handbook once 2 years prior when the person updating it asked her opinion about the changes.
Meanwhile, I can't remember what I had for breakfast 2 days ago.
I also forget the names of most of my friends’ spouses, despite knowing them 10-20 years, gaming in their houses, etc.
I recognize certain patterns in my mental retention. I can remember things involving music (including performers’ names), gaming, cooking, locations of objects or businesses, alphanumerical sequences and such with scary accuracy. If I can remember something as/associate it with an image, I’m even more accurate.
I routinely mess up names of people I see on a regular basis…but not pets. I can remember plots of TV show episodes, but not necessarily the episode names. This includes reruns of shows (including game shows) I’m not really watching, but just in the room when it aired. I’m historically terrible at remembering scientific/mathematical formulas, and often misapplied the ones I DID remember.
I’m not usually making conscious efforts to remember such trivia or not trying to recall things that matter. It’s like my mind is run by freaking magpies.
