Can you recharge a wand? How? Does somebody know where the rule is (if any)?

DarkJester is right. Officially, there is no way to recharge a wand in the core rules. If you do allow it though, it's pretty easy to handle it.

Say your wand is down to 30 charges and you want to recharge it with another 20, bringing the wand back up to it's maximum of 50 charges. Just figure up the total cost of the wand and divide it by 50, then take that number and multiply it by 20. That's how much it would cost to recharge it. That also tells you how much time it will take as well.

I think most who allow wand recharging requires that you have all the prerequisiets for creating such a wand when you recharge it.

That should go without saying, and anyone worth half a grain of salt would know that. What's with the rolling eyes? Are you that against it?

Absolutely not! I meant it was so obvious that you forgot to mention it ;)

IIRC there is some text about "repairing broken magic items" somewhere in the DMG.

Using those rules - you could "recharge" a partially broken wand.

Most people have house rules for doing this anyway.

I would charge you 2% of the base cost of the full wand per charge to recharge it; provided you met all the prerequisites to make the item in the first place.
