The warmech held out its right arm, and brass plates ka-chacked apart, revealing tiny clamps that were each holding sections of metal that fit together like pieces of a puzzle. The clamps whirred and moved, pressing those bits of metal to one another in the configuration of a long, sharp blade.
Trebuchet removed the blade from those clamps and gripped its base with both hands, testing its weight and integrity. Satisfied, it rested the new weapon casually back over its left shoulder, still holding it with its right hand.
