Ring of the Fey Lord (DM:Atanatotatos, Judge:Lord Sessadore)Up:Lorik, etc.

Reaching the tree Rhole notices a small lever inside, after checking it over for any traps, depressing it swings open a large portion of the tree revealing the contents inside.

There are a variety of items inside, a halberd, a holy symbol of Netari, and a red velvet sack of 200 gold pieces.

[sblock=loot]Sure, if you don't mind sharing your gig money.[/sblock]

"Congratulations on your sudden windfall," Haruka states without enthusiasm, "but we really need to go back for Lorik. Assuming he hasn't been abducted yet." There does seem to be some actual concern in her voice.

[sblock=Sorry]I know we probably aren't going to find anything, and it's taking us away from where we want to go, but I can't really see us forgetting Lorik again.[/sblock]

[sblock=loot]Yeah, I was waiting on an official "Rhole opts to not bone his new companions" notice before I pounced on that lovely holy symbol.[/sblock]Derien nods to Haruka. "I'm afraid of what we'll find, but we don't have a choice; we have to go back to the shack we stayed at last night, and see what's become of Lorik."

The group begins trudging back to where they managed to rest the prior evening and the scene awaiting confirmed them proves that Haruka's ill visions were true. Lorik had been left in the corner, his mad fever leaving him weakened and helpless, but now there is no sign of him. A note is left in the hut.

"Your friend is being held for safe keeping until you return my Ring." it says simply.

Haruka stares at the note for several moments before crumpling it up in her fist. The paper dissolves into black sludge in her hand. "Let's go. The longer we keep Lord Arnamil waiting, the more time he has to get angry at us for killing his servants. This playful mood of his won't last forever."

As they continue on their way, Rhole casts a concerned look back towards the hut where Lorik was left behind.

“Well, uh, if I get messed up you tall people are welcome to carry me around.”

The gnome gives Rock a stern look.

“Since some other individuals can’t handle a little passed-out-on-stage evacuation routine.”

The critter pauses in flight, looks back at its master in embarrassment, and shrugs.

“Heavy.”

[sblock=Travelling]For now and while travelling in general, Rock scouts invisibly ahead and Rhole walks somewhere in the middle of the group.[/sblock]

Hmm, now I have a dilemma - part of Ironheart's backstory is that he's carrying around the very axe that was used to fell his grove. How do I RP him swapping it for a new one?
[/sblock]

Ironheart pulls the longaxe from the tree. "I will keep this," he announces, "To ensure that no other trees feel its bite." He glares at his companions, daring them to challenge his assertion. When none do, he grasps it awkwardly in his burned left-side branches and stumps off with the column, hoisting both axes, one over each shoulder.

Perhaps after defeating the hag you can demand she transfer an enchantment from the new one to your original one in exchange for her life?
[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Hopefully we can convince her that her life is worth more than that. Maybe worth something that's a net gain for us.

Also, are we waiting on something? It feels like we're waiting on something.[/sblock]
