Ring of the Fey Lord (DM:Atanatotatos, Judge:Lord Sessadore)Up:Lorik, etc.

[sblock=OOC]
  • I retrained Focused Sound (crits on 18-20) mostly because focus-fire situations don’t seem that frequent, and picked Blunder (slide foes and gives bonus attack) which should work well with Ironheart in particular.
  • I picked Advantage of Cunning for feat because I like the chess-player feel and am getting good mileage out of Virtue of Cunning (can slides foes in addition to allies).
  • I picked Song of Courage for utility which makes Rhole a walking sustainable attack bonus zone, thus helping out the whole group.

A couple suggestions:
1) Toughness - who doesn't need more hp
2) Sudden Roots - slow enemies on OA's
3) Warforged Wood Woad Tactics
I haven’t looked closely at all options, but I agree that Warforged Wood Woad Tactics seems a good pick. I know that Toughness has saved Woe’s bacon many times, but it probably isn’t too important to Ironheart since he’s going to have ~50 hp anyway.

Haven't browsed through Primal Power yet, sorry. Among the PH2 options, Guardian Thorns does look nice for the utility.

Yes, since everyone else is going up, I will too. However, see this thread, especially you judges.
So that would be everyone, with one exception. It’s almost like Ring of the Fey Lord is the new Captain’s Caper. :D

[sblock=DM credits]This post is so that I can link to it and say that I spent 6 DM credits for 624 xp and 534g. This is conditional on my proposal passing, obviously, but I'm confident it will pass, and I actually have time to do this today.

[sblock=other miscellanea]In other news, did we ever split up the cash from the hag's hut? I couldn't find an appropriate post to link to.

Ikni at level 3 will pick up intelligent blademaster feat, so her MBA doesn't suck now. Also, she gets Channeling Shield, an immediate interrupt encounter utility that reduces damage by 8 on one attack within range. Also, Dimensional Vortex, another immediate interrupt: when someone hits an ally with a melee attack within range, Ikni can teleport the attacker 5 squares and redirect its attack against another target of her choosing, if she hits with an Int vs. Will attack. Should be fun against brutes. Finally, my acidic longsword powers are actually on my sheet now, so I won't forget about them quite so often.

[sblock=DM credits]Oh, good idea. I'm spending 6 credits for 624 xp and 534 gp.[/sblock]

[sblock=other stuff]We have not split any of the monetary treasure we have found so far. We probably don't need to worry about that until we get to Lord Arnamil's gift shop.

I would like to remind our defenders that they each have a healing potion. We found them here and distributed them here.

Having given it some thought, I like Sudden Roots for a reach warden, since it almost completely stops shift-charges, which normally give wardens trouble. Nevermind, it doesn't work how I thought

And while Haruka may only have a wisdom of 8, I'd like to think she realizes how bad of an idea it would be to set Ironheart on fire. So she'll only do it if she really needs to.[/sblock]

I think I'm going to retrain an at-will at level 1. I don't need both Earth Shield Strike AND Strength of Stone.

I could either take Thorn Strike (good for hitting somebody at range 2 and pulling them adjacent so I can mark them and get OA's), Weight of Earth (slow targets I hit, makes me a better defender without Combat Challenge), or Warden's Lunge (let's me mark with a melee attack at range 2, which means I can also retrain Student of the Sword and get 2 of the feats I'm tring to decide between at level 2. What do you think?

[sblock=ooc]I like Weight of Earth, myself. But to muddy the waters, Primal Power introduces Tempest Assualt. You make a normal attack against one guy, only you deal lightning damage instead of normal damage, and one different enemy within 2 and marked by you takes Con lightning damage. I still think Weight of Earth is the better choice though. However, if Warden's Lunge will free up a feat, then that sounds like a pretty good choice too. Also, if you're able to do your stuff without having to be adjacent to enemies, then that means you're less likely to be caught in Fiery Bolt's splash.

I would recommend you keep Strength of Stone. But I love temp hp, so I'm a little biased.[/sblock]

[sblock=power/feat]
There's a feat in the PP (Crippling Crush I believe) that lets you add your Con bonus to damage with powers that slow or immobilize. Weight of Earth does this (at-will) so you get a +4 damage on one of your most common attacks. Now as you level up and get more encounter powers you could retrain it out, but I'm playing a level 2 dwarf warden in RPGA and he's putting out 1d10+11 damage on his at-will (+3 str, +4 con, +2 dwarven weapon training, +2 enchancement) He also has the Winter's Herald power so that one is a burst 1 1d10+11 power.

It grants you striker-level damage for only 1 feat.
