“Eh… Help!” whimpers Rhole, while scampering away from the panther.

[sblock=Actions]
Sword 20’s turn: Derien can slide a square via Rhole’s Virtue of Cunning (thanks to Rhole’s new feat Sword 20 could also be slid into the square Derien left, but I’d rather not).
Derien’s turn: Rhole fails to save vs dazed via Derien’s Sacred Flame.
Minor: Sustain Song of Courage.
Action Point: Second Wind.
End of turn: Rhole fails to save vs dazed.

Thanks for the brave efforts guys, but I still managed to roll two natural twos… More dazing will likely force me to cut off Song of Courage soon. :( I don’t think the dragon needs to bother getting its claws dirty.

Sorry for the delay guys, just had to clean some stuff up at work today before vacation. I'll post an update tomorrow morning EST[/sblock]

Watching the panther come charging out of the foliage at Rhole's back, Ikni's hands instinctively move in a warding pattern she had seen Oomailiq use many times, but never successfully completed herself. This time it works, and a barrier of arcane force interposes itself between Rhole and the charging panther. Encouraged by this, she stands, but slips on the mossy rocks of the riverbed and is taken by the current for a moment, but keeps her feet. She surges out of the water, swinging her blade at the back of the harpy, but misses.

Ironheart wades out of the river and maneuvers his way along the bank, behind Derien, to solid ground. "Now you're gonna get it," he rumbles, charging towards the cowering Eladrin. He strikes it with a mighty crash that sends it flying into the river, and without pausing, leaps over it to land on the far bank, next to the bowman. "Surprise!" he cackles at it, as his roots unfurl to wrap insidious tendrils around both his victims.

Haruka responds to the winged creature with the dry voice of the dark fey, "You stupid, wretched mongrel. You attacked us, remember? I didn't want any of this, especially not, let's be honest," Haruka's face twists in disgust, "you."

Her tattoos tear themselves off her skin again as they wind their way through the air towards one of the eladrin, but the fey is able to fend them off. Haruka flinches as a long cut opens up on her cheek, and the inky tendrils retract, laying against her skin once more.

Displaying a contemptuous indifference to the man who's trying to kill him,
Derien splashes more fire over the winged creature. This time it catches, and the light it sheds washes over Rhole.

“Eh… Help!” whimpers Rhole, while scampering away from the panther.

The eladrin stands up and slashes Ironheart with his blade, not doing much damage however.

The swordsman next to Haruka stabs the warlock with his blade, scoring a nice blow.

The bowwoman steps away from Ironheart and quickly fires off a pair of arrows, but the second one fizzles in the water. The fires scorch the warden as the arrows sinks in with a thud.

The woman steps back from Ikni, singing another alluring song that draws Haruka and Derien forward leaving them and Ikni staring in wonder at the woman's skill. Same as last time Rhole's own song is more potent and he resists it. Then she unleashes another deadly blast that leaves the enraptured listener's ears ringing and seeing stars.

Seeing that the others are taken care of the panther attempts to bite the vulnerable gnome, but Rhole rolls out of the way of the teeth.

The dragon looks on in amusement, continuing to grin as the other fey overwhelm the adventurers.

Ironheart brings his axe crashing down on the swordsman's upraised weapon, splintering the sword and continuing through to split the eladrin near in two. He grunts as he pulls the axe free from the corpse and turns towards the bowman. "THAT'S how it's done," he growls in satisfaction. "You're next."

As the bowman takes a nervous step backwards, Ironheart swings his axe overhand again. The bowman flinches - and relaxes as the axe crashes into the ground next to him. "You think I missed?" Ironheart lears. The earth splits open wider around the gash left by his axe, and a tentacle-like vine surges forth and grabs the bowman around the ankle, yanking him to the ground and dragging his leg into the crack. The bowman screams and struggles to tear himself loose as something within grinds against his flesh. At last he yanks free and tries to stand, but collapses back to the earth as his leg gives way under him. It is ringed with red, bleeding sucker marks.

Standard: attack Sword 10 with Strength of Stone: Strength of Stone vs Sword 10 (1d20+9=29, 1d10+10=11) Crit damage (1d6=5) Critical hit for 25 damage! I'm going to assume that kills it. If not, I at least push it to N4. I also gain 4 temp hp.
AP: Earthgrasp Strike on bowman: Earthgrasp Strike on bowman (1d20+9=18, 1d10+10=13) Hit AC 18 for 13; it is knocked prone, can't stand until end of my next turn, and takes 1d10+5 damage the first time it stands
Move: shift to L2
Free: mark bowman with Nature's Wrath

[sblock=ooc]Man, I bet the dragon is Arnamil, sitting around smirking while we needlessly risk our lives against his minions. The jerk.

Dunamin, you should slide Derien to Q13, as that would prevent Sword 20 from charging him, as well as getting him back into cover.[/sblock]

Haruka grasps at the tendrils encircling her and pulls them towards her. The shadows cover her like a shroud, blotting out her body and leaving only her silhouette visible.

[sblock=Actions]Standard: Second Wind, gaining 10 hp and +2 to defenses.

No longer immobile, but still dazed, which kind of sucks.

Also, happy holidays guys.[/sblock]

Ikni watches the battle unfold around her. She sees the nearer swordsman wind up for a cut at Haruka's exposed side, and without stopping to think, she reaches her free hand towards the swordsman and twists. Suddenly he is no longer there, but instead is standing behind the winged female fey. The blade has too much momentum to stop, though, and it cuts deeply into her.

Ikni smiles, but her concentration lapses, and the harpy's shriek overwhelms her senses. Reeling, she lashes out at the bird-woman with her blade, which releases a jet of simmering green acid that coats the woman, eating away at her flesh. Finally, Ikni draws deeply on herself and, teeth gritted in concentration, sketches her warding mark and sends it floating toward the panther harassing Rhole.

[sblock=actions]Immediate interrupt: When Sword20 crits Haruka for 9, use dimensional vortex: 19 vs. Will, if that's a hit, teleport sword 20 to S16 and have him make the attack against the harpy instead. I sincerely hope that marks her instead of Haruka, but that would be icing on the cake. Note Ikni's not dazed yet at this point.

On Ikni's turn: Ugh, so hard to put a turn together when you're dazed. Let's see. Okay, how's this: Acidic sword power to use a MBA against the harpy from range: 23 vs. AC for 8 acid damage. If that's a hit, use the daily power (free) to deal 5 ongoing acid damage (save ends).

AP, if I still have it (I think I do): aegis of shielding to mark the panther.

Neither of those attack rolls included Song of Courage, so if that's still up, make them 20 and 24.

End of her turn: save vs. dazed and immobilized, respectively: 15, 5. Still immobilized, not dazed.

Dunamin, you should slide Derien to Q13, as that would prevent Sword 20 from charging him, as well as getting him back into cover.
Sure.

Any chance of another Sacred Flame to help keep the Song of Courage alive, taran? That would also allow Rhole to heal Haruka and slide her away from trouble.[/sblock]

Rhole's song competes with the Harpy's, pulling Derien to and fro. He tries to return the favor with some more of Netari's fire, but to no result.[sblock=Actions]Out of turn: Accept a slide to Q13, getting me out of reach of the nasty, bitey panther, not to mention the harpy.
Standard: Sacred Flame the Harpy, 12 versus Reflex, 11 damage. That's not very good. Elven Accuracy into 9 versus AC. Sigh. Even considering that I left off the benefit of Song of Courage, that looks pretty grim. Sorry Dunamin. Maybe it's best if we let the Song lapse in favor of Rhole actually getting to make attacks and heal people.
