Ring of the Fey Lord (DM:Atanatotatos, Judge:Lord Sessadore)Up:Lorik, etc.

With a panther more than twice the size of Rhole clawing at his face, the gnome is unable to concentrate on playing his epic ballad. He twangs the strings of the Great Ultra-Intense Thundering Audio Ripper to send rippling sound at the feline beast, but they are far too weak to make any worthwhile impact.

[sblock=Actions]
Rhole attacks the panther with Vicious Mockery and "hits" Will 10 for 9 damage and -2 to attacks until end of Rhole’s next turn.
Rhole fails vs dazed.

This sucks. :(

I'll be on a train all day tomorrow, and then visiting my in-laws until New Years. I'll have net access after tomorrow, so I should be able to post, but if everyone else goes and I'm holding everything up feel free to NPC me.

My goal is to finish off this bowman since I've got him at such a disadvantage, then head back and take some of the pressure of Rhole.
[/sblock]

Ironheart brings his axe crashing down on the swordsman's upraised weapon, splintering the sword and continuing through to split the eladrin near in two. He grunts as he pulls the axe free from the corpse and turns towards the bowman. "THAT'S how it's done," he growls in satisfaction. "You're next."

As the bowman takes a nervous step backwards, Ironheart swings his axe overhand again. The bowman flinches - and relaxes as the axe crashes into the ground next to him. "You think I missed?" Ironheart lears. The earth splits open wider around the gash left by his axe, and a tentacle-like vine surges forth and grabs the bowman around the ankle, yanking him to the ground and dragging his leg into the crack. The bowman screams and struggles to tear herself loose as something within grinds against her flesh. At last she yanks free and tries to stand, but collapses back to the earth as her leg gives way under her. It is ringed with red, bleeding sucker marks.

Haruka grasps at the tendrils encircling her and pulls them towards her. The shadows cover her like a shroud, blotting out her body and leaving only her silhouette visible.

Ikni watches the battle unfold around her. She sees the nearer swordsman wind up for a cut at Haruka's exposed side, and without stopping to think, she reaches her free hand towards the swordsman and twists. Suddenly he is no longer there, but instead is standing behind the winged female fey. The blade has too much momentum to stop, though, and it cuts deeply into her.

Ikni smiles, but her concentration lapses, and the harpy's shriek overwhelms her senses. Reeling, she lashes out at the bird-woman with her blade, which releases a jet of simmering green acid that coats the woman, eating away at her flesh. Finally, Ikni draws deeply on herself and, teeth gritted in concentration, sketches her warding mark and sends it floating toward the panther harassing Rhole.

Rhole's song competes with the Harpy's, pulling Derien to and fro. He tries to return the favor with some more of Netari's fire, but to no result.

vs ac; dmg (1d20 7=8, 1d6 3=4) miss...badly[/sblock]

The swordsmen head still swims as he holds the blade up defensively.

The bowwoman fires two arrows at Ironheart, the first goes well wide, likely caused by the terrible blow that the warden caused, but the second causes some of the wood woad's leafs to wilt.

The panther deftly swings around Rhole and this time tears into him, but Ikni's magical warding prevents all but the most superficial wound.

As the acid burns the harpy, she screams a horrible shriek that blasts into all those close to her, friend or foe. Unfortunately for her, the blast effects more friendly targets. She flies back a few steps and sings a more affectionate song and all but Derien are drawn to her, again.

The dragon curses in frustration at the events and flies to a better vantage place on the bridge.

sword 20 - total defense - save (1d20=4) still dazed Yowzers.

bow fires two shots at Ironheart - draws OA vs ac; dmg (1d20 9=19, 1d10 10=20) hits for max! - vs ref; dmg (1d20 8=9, 1d10 1d6=9, 1d20 8=23, 1d10 1d6=8) not really worth it, hits once for 8....boo-urns

panther bites Rhole, shifting 1 from the attack, then shifting 1 on his move action - vs ac; dmg (1d20 7=23, 1d6 4=9) hits for 9, although I'm assuming Ikni will use his aegis of shielding so it only does 1.

When harpy takes ongoing damage on her turn it triggers desperate shriek as a free action - vs fort (ikni, rhole, derien, haruka, panther, sword); thunder dmg (1d20 9=21, 1d6 2=8, 1d20 9=10, 1d6 2=6, 1d20 9=12, 1d6 2=4, 1d20 9=11, 1d6 2=7, 1d20 9=28, 1d6 2=6, 1d20 9=20, 1d6 2=7) hits ikni crits panther and hits sword 20...ouch that super sucks... Ikni takes 3 thunder damage (after resist), other 2 take 8 and all are dazed (save ends)

She moves back and then uses alluring song on you - vs will(ikni, rhole, derien, haruka (1d20 9=25, 1d20 9=25, 1d20 9=14, 1d20 9=27) all but derien are affected this time, all are immobilized still save ends and she pulls everyone close. She fails to recharge power....

Dragon double moves onto bridge, when he does the panther disappears from your sight. (I left token where you last saw him)

Those in the water, please make an Athletics DC 18 roll on your turn, else you are pushed 3 squares to the west.

[sblock=ooc]I also got 6 temp hp when Sword 10 died.

Dunamin, if you could use Cutting Words to pull the harpy to T17, I would be very grateful. And just to confirm, does Feywild Challenge also give the traditional -2 to attacks, or is it just damage if I attack someone else?[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Oh man, that's great. Just 6 thp, by the way (status shows 7).

So, here's my idea: I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting pretty tired of that harpy. The swordsman isn't much of a threat while he's Aegised and dazed, but that stupid aoe dazing buzzard has to go. If the harpy's in T17, then I can get both the Prime Shot bonus and Fiery Bolt's splash to hit the swordsman and none of us. A Lance of Faith on the Harpy would also be very helpful. If we're lucky (*crosses fingers*) we could take down the Harpy this turn.[/sblock]

“Unholy Great Gods of the Beat, woman!” Rhole scorns the harpy, breaking up her song with a series of mighty wails from the Great Ultra-Intense Thundering Audio Ripper.

“Could you do us all a favor and kill that choir of asthma-suffering kittens you get jammed down your throat?!”

The bard’s words sting like a hail of needles and his music forces her towards him, like a karma-sated dose of her own medicine (except that Rhole’s work sounds much better).

Rhole attacks the harpy with Cutting Words and hits Will 22 for 9 damage, pulling her to T17.

The harpy's song is getting easier to ignore. Derien turns to face it: "Witless beast. You'll get no favour from your Lord Arnamil, now or ever again."[sblock=Actions]Sadly, I am Dazed, not Immobilized, so:

Standard: Lance of Faith the Harpy, 26 versus Reflex. That's a crit, so I deal 14 + 5 = 19 radiant damage to the Harpy, and Haruka's next attack against it gets a +2 power bonus. Finish her, THB.

Save versus Dazedness: Succeeds!.[/sblock]

Haruka cups her hands together and blows into them, as though to warm them in cold weather. When she separates them, a burning red ember is lying in her palm, which she then flings at the winged monstrosity. The ember flies straight as an arrow...

[sblock=If the harpy's reflex is 15 or less]...and hits the creature square in the chest. Upon impact, the ember burrows into flesh for a moment before erupting outward in a wave of red flame that consumes the beast and washes over the nearby eladrin as well.[/sblock]

[sblock=If the harpy's reflex is greater than 15]...but misses, embedding itself in a tree and quickly crumbling into ash. Haruka gasps in pain as burns appear and quickly fade across her hands.[/sblock]

[sblock=Actions]Standard: Fiery Bolt against the harpy. Hits Reflex 15 for a ton of damage. Specifically, the harpy takes 16 fire damage and 8 untyped damage, while the eladrin takes 14 fire damage. Hell of a bad time to roll a 6 to hit. Man, if that misses I'm going to be seriously bummed out, by which I mean I'll take 3 damage to not lose the power but I'll still feel like a jerk.

Once again, no longer immobile, but still dazed, so what good does that do?

The stat block below assumes I hit. Positive thinking and all that. If I missed, then I still have Fiery Bolt, and my hp is (are?) 29/30 with no temps left.

Please hit, you stupid thing. It would be nice if at least one of my cunning plans would work out this adventure.[/sblock]

[sblock=Doh]Argh, there goes several turns of preparation. Should've gone with my own plan of Blunder'ing the harpy into being slapped around by Ikni.

Ah well, we'll be finishing her soon enough. Unless the dragon feels like joining in (read: mopping us up).[/sblock]
