Rogue Starting HP

First Post
Did anyone else notice that the starting hp is 12 + constitution SCORE, not modifier, like it says for the healing surges. So depending on your constitution score, you may get more hp from that than from your class, lol. So it looks like you do start with a lot of hp.

Yup.

They are trying to stop the Level 1 one-hit death from happening! ;)

one of the saddest moments i had was my sorceror dying from an arrow fired by a completely unseen archer. Killed her dead. (or might as well, she never got healing and a TPK ensued )

The rogue ran back to help her, hit by arrow, down to nearly no life, secound arrow, killed.
Cleric ran back to help rogue, next round killed by two arrows. repeat.

because the party was spread out, two archers with good luck killed our whole party by hitting each person twice before they could be reached. except the fighter. He had 13 hitpoints. he killed one with 3 hp left, and then got a dagger from the other.

Yeah, i won't miss single digit hitpoints.

You know there is nothing stoping your from ruling 1st level pc's in 3E get 2X starting hp, or even 3X starting hp at level 1...

Yep, I like the increased starting hp.

It's probably part of their attempt to stretch that sweet spot they talk about.

At the same time, notice that the level increase has no + at all, just straight 5/level. So, the increase becomes less drastic quickly as you go up in levels.

I'm not crazy about the change, but it's acceptable.

This is why all of my recent 3e games have started at 3rd level. I look forward to enjoying 1st level play again.
This is exactly what I did for the couple of games that I DM'd and it's how numerous games that I played in were started.
