Star Wars: The Rebellion ch. 1

At the briefing Johnny asks, "How do we identify the contact?"
Johnny arrives early and starts to check the craft out. He looks over the shoulders of the loaders so he knows where every thing is as well as how balanced (?) the loading is. When Johnny does his preflight inspection, he also checks that all hatches are properly locked and stowed.

"He will contact you."

And to the astrogate check... You just made it. You will arrive in Cato Neimoidia in eight days.

And OOC: I cannot find the location of Cato Neimoidia anywhere, so I just placed it near Duro in the Core.

Hurry Up and Wait...

I spend the eight days practicing Katas, running sims on the competer to start to learn about piloting fighters, cleaning my blaster, and spending each evening offering to teach my shipmates the finer points of cards and/or dice. I will wait till day eight to assemble the grenades.

Is there a shooting SIM? I'd spend as much time as I can there shooting Stormtroopers. I need to work on my aim.

Yes, there is a shooting sim hologame, although it's shooting ducks. That's right, the GFFA version of Duck Hunt!

M-3PX spends most of his time trying his best to be helpful. He interfaces with the ship's computer a couple of time just to see how it is doing. When the Duck Shooting game is discovered, he plays a few times, quickly loosing interest. As he walks a way anyone nearby can hear him say
"It seems these winged synthetic biological organism simulations don't even have the decency to produce vocal patterns that indicate pain and expel organic nutrient-delivery fluids."

Eight days later, the alarm blares throughout the ship as you approach the final hour before reaching Cato Neimoidia.

When you finally reach the system, a fleet of old Z-95's are patrolling the sector and upon your entrance to the system they soon move towards the YT-2400. Soon, a blinking light on the console in front of you indicates that you are being hailed by the fleet.

A Duros pilot appears in front of you, his flat face and large, pupil-less eyes seemingly staring at the captain of the ship.

"Unidentified Corellian freighter, you are entering a restricted area. Please identify yourselves and state your purpose for being in this sector. Failure to comply will result in arrest or possible hostile action."

The Duros' voice, despite the many years of new translation technology, still has a twinge of the accent exhibited by his Neimoidian cousins decades earlier.

Taking a deep breathe, than exhaling slowly. Than very calmly and with the mechanical blase emphasis one expects from an experienced freighter pilot. As per the info provided by his superiors, Johnny reports his ship number as well as the minimal information (destination? and what else?) given during an initial contact report. Nothing is adlibbed.
