"We may have a problem. The Hutts may be considering an alliance with the New Imperial Order, and there could be an Imperial presence on Nal-Hutta. I'd like some of your agents to do some nosing around, see if they can dig anything up."

As Oothar returns to Garek's cabin, he finds Brasa and Shi-dal waiting near the door listening to the Ambassador's conversation with the rebel agents on Nal-Hutta.

"Captain Vutaa will be able to get us there much earlier than expected and he has agreed to come with us to the negotiations and provide backup, in case we need to deal with an Imperial presence," he tells the two Jedi. "Any news, yet?"

After speaking to Fe'lar, Garek opens a channel to Nal-Hutta.

"We had some engine trouble. We'll be able to fix the problem, but it will delay our arrival by two days. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."

OODM: Sorry bout that, it's been a bit hectic round here with the holidays.

IDM:
Fe'lar had agreed to do as you had asked, and would have the information soon.

When you contact the hutts, however, the major domo expresses that his masters will be greatly displeased if you must be late, but they will accept your tardiness.. for now.

OOC: No prob, Jemal. I figured you just needed a soft kick. :)

Oothar waits until Garek closes the communication feed before making a comment, "Well let's hope that the Imperials are there, because if they aren't, then we have just angered the Hutts for no reason."

A small smile does break across the Ithorian's two mouths, however, "If our being late has upset the Hutts this much, then they should be doubly pleased when we arrive much, much earlier."

Garek grins at this. "Well, they'll have no reason to complain, that's for sure."

"If I understand you correctly," Wepps says, entering the cabin after setting the autopilot, "then our early arrival is to assess the situation between the Hutts and the Imperials? Knowing what we're up against is one thing, however. What we'll do with that knowledge is another. I'm quite curious to know what the Alliance agents have discovered."

"As am I, Captain, as am I," Oothar says, glad to see the Twi'lek joining in. "I had thought that our early arrival might catch the Imperials unaware, thereby allowing us to see through any possible subterfuge they might be planning. In addition, from what Master Skywalker has told us of the Hutts, they are a shrewd and crafty people. If we can show ourselves to be a part of the game, instead of being subject to it, then perhaps we can maintain an edge in these negotiations."
