Too much. No spells, d10 hit dice, no sneak attack means it's using the fighter chassis. But getting 1/level BM maneuver dice (per short rest!) is way too much.

A small pool of dice allowing maneuvers, that recharges on a short rest (for Hatred), and a another pool of long rest defensive abilities (for Discipline) would be a solid start. Get rid of the hunter's mark analogue, as it steps on the Ranger's toes too much. Considering the source material, I'd bump up the features that support dual hand crossbows into the main class, and add enough features so that Crossbow Expert doesn't feel like a mandatory feat.

My first impression is that it's too strong compared to PHB classes.

Example - a 5th level Avenger (Inner Demon) enters combat and uses a bonus action to use Marked for Death against a target they then attack with a non-magical longsword. Both attacks hit and they use Vengeance Dice (out of 5 total) to perform the Menacing and Pushing Attacks vs the target. Each hit does 3d8+Str damage (1d8 sword + 1d8 Maneuver + 1d8 Marked for Death) + effects of Maneuvers. This kills the target and the Avenger heals 1d10+2hp (Leech).

Compare to a 5th level Fighter (Battlemaster). Does the same thing using the same maneuvers (2 out of 4 total Superiority Dice) and does 2d8+Str damage per hit + effects of Maneuvers and gets no additional hp for the kill (only gets a single d10+5hp for one Second Wind per rest).

Eventually the Battlemaster gets a third attack at 11th level but still only has 5 Superiority dice compared to the Avenger's 11, both have d10s. But Marked for Death now does 2d8 extra damage. The Avenger gets Frightening Glare (unlimited Frighten ability other than save) and Unnatural Sight (1 minute per short rest) while the Battlemaster gets Know Your Enemy (needs 1 minute) and Indomitable (1/long rest).
