The Blue & The Grey (Long Shots)

"This is ridiculous. You wait here and I'll get the boss to tell you no." He leaves his window and exits the teller area, muttering. He walks briskly to a door marked 'Private' and steps through. You hear the sounds of an animated conversation, and then a portly gentleman in a vest and suit trousers comes out.

"Gentlemen, what's the issue here?"

I'm going to beat someone if they keep giving us the run around.

"The issue is that we're not getting much help here." Heywood pulls out his badge and shows it to the fat guy. "We're investigating the disappearance of Louis Aiello. We know he was here some time before that and we're looking for any information you can give us."

"I don't know who this Aiello guy is, but Nealy was a regular for a while. Nice guy, but a little dense when it came to making money. That's about all I can tell you without a subpoena."

"Listen we are not going to share the info. Sounds like Nealy and Aiello were friends. And they were friends of Little Charlie, who is a friend of ours. So either I call Little Charlie and tell him you are not being cooperative or you can help us out. Oh yeah and you do not want me to get a supboena because when I do I will come back with enough g-men that will shut this place down for a month. And when I feel like it then I will let you re-open." Bishop will empasize the last bit.

"Look, he stopped coming after a while. Usually it's just a run of bad luck that causes it. Except, well, there is one other thing I can think of that would force someone to stop gambling as regularly as he used to - if he was going to enter a horse in an upcoming race. Then he'd have to put up some big money for the stake. Maybe you should check to see if he's nominated any horses. The office is with the barns."

"And who should we ask for?" Bishop will state to the man.

Afterwards Bishop will nod "Let's go." Bishop will make his way to the Barn Office. "You know Heywood, nothing personal, but if you want to force info out of guys you have to learn how to either talk them into it or push it out of them. I am the second type. If I was you, I would learn how to sweat talk these guys."

"Like I said nothing personal."

Heywood snorts. "Yeah, I'm not much of a sweet talker, so I guess I'll let you do most of the talking. At least when it comes to these mob types. If we get to talk to someone with more brains than Mickey Mouse, then I'll handle it. How's that sound?"
