The Crux of the Matter

"Well, nothing realy of interest here. Can't read this anyway," Vanitri says with some disapointment in his voice.

He sighs and leans against the wall, seeming fairly disinterested in anything else in the room.

Rinaldo starts to look at the room. At Vanitri reaction, he stare a moment at him, but decide to push aside his doubt for the moment. "A study room? Do you think these book hold some personal notes? Laynie, you seem pretty familiar in the old languages used by Spira, what do you think? "

*Laynie nods and heads over to the book.*

"You say 'used by Spira'. Does that mean you think this Spira person is the one who wrote on the front door?" she reaches the book, "This is Old Medibarian. It seems to be a book of parables or fables, but I think perhaps there is something more to it somehow, but I dunno--I'm just a kid, and these things are hard and stuff."

[SBLOCK=Rinaldo]Rinaldo was affected by something, so have him act unnaturally angry and irritable until I say otherwise--should be fun [/SBLOCK]

"Yes. Yes, I guess you're right. I'm clearly a superior intelligence to all of you, but perhaps you only feel inferior because you're also an imbecile? Think about how hard the work was for you at the Academy--you would have never even made it through the easy classes without me to help you. Getting help from a little girl because you can't do it yourself? Face it, compared to me, you're nothing!"

"Have you listen, Laynie, to Xe? She told:

'Spira thought she was quite sly,
Taking Elpis, that is why
Killed herself and made them cry'

And the message on the door told Elpis escape and seal that tower, that was her final sacrifice. It seems easy to understand, even for a kid."
says Rinaldo

"Rinaldo?" asks Hogarth.

"What?" answers sharply Rinaldo

"Nothing." but Hogarth look seems concerned by something.

Rinaldo takes the book Laynie is holding and start to inspect it, once he will be sure there is no trap in his pages, he will start to try to decipher it.

Ashnar looks around, carefully examining the things that his trap-wise companions have deemed to be safe. He doesn't want to get into the argument that seems to be building up right now, but also keeps an eye at Laynie.

"Hey, at least I remember her name, moron. It was Xu, not Xe. And it seems like basing your analysis too much on what some crazy singing wraith said is pretty stupid. Still, you could be right. Sometimes you're pretty smart, for an idiot."

(OOC: Attempting to decipher a page of script takes one minute. With a +10, he needs a 15 to manage)

[SBLOCK=Ashnar]Ashnar was affected by something, so have him act incredibly paranoid and suspicious of everything, even his fellow party members, until I say otherwise--should be fun[/SBLOCK]
