It's never about the topic at hand. Not really.

Take the argument about pineapple on pizza, for example: it's not about pineapple, or pizza, or the two of them together. No, it's about someone's irresistible urge to correct a person for being 'wrong,' or their irrepressible need to be 'right' about it. The pizza? It's just the catalyst.

I like pineapple on my ham pizza, but whatever. The real reason I'm writing is to tell you that you are wrong. Don't make me keep repeating myself, don't make me start another thread about it...just agree with me already so that we can move on.

You seem to think that at least in some cases, they wouldn't then start arguing about how you aren't agreeing hard enough, or in the right way.
