I bought a book years ago off ebay, open it up, and its French. Go back to the listing, nope, English, pictures, English, contact the guy.

"No that couldnt be."
"Well it is, and heres a picture."
"Well you are Canadian, dont you speak French? No refund."
"Uh....no, either send me the right one, or give me a refund."

A refund it was, but still its all about trust as you say.

I'm not infrequently in the situation where, while I know more than typical about the history of some games and how their communities were early on (Champions, but also to some extent RuneQuest) so I'll comment on things, and while I'm pretty sure I'm right, I'm always worried someone will take me as more broadly authoritative than I am (this is especially true with Champions when people from that community hear my real name...)

It's also not unoften true that those who can, can't teach. Someone who can both do and teach is a real treasure.

Yeah. It’s generally grade-A BS. Some of the best teachers I’ve ever had were accomplished professionals in their fields.
