The Long Arm of Lauto:Broken Wards (DM:Ukingsken)

Morvannon tries to recall anything like this perverted ritual from the tomes he'd pored through at his mother's academy.

[sblock=ooc] I'm about to disappear for about a week cus im seeing chickenfoot, Our Lady Peace, finger eleven, sloan, The Answer, Anvil, and ACDC. So I may not be able to post until friday afternoon. Just letting you all know.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]
Enjoy Ukingsken! Thanksy for the heads up. ACDC, they're still rocking? That's real old school. They were around when I was still in high school. That tells you how old I am. lol

Anyway...I propose that Ukingsken rolls all of our skill checks as he rolls another 20 out of 20 for Vixo's skill check!

I know that Magnus is next, but will I'm posting now and since I'm next behind the Magnus, I hope everyone doesn't mind if I do my skill check in front of his.

Grakk, with a large piece of rubble in his hands, turns and notices Vixo's grabing the artifact, moving it downward. "Nice idea Vixo! Hold on, I'll do the same!" He drops the rubble and races towards the floating artifact and grabs it, trying to yank it downward using all of his strength and 350 pounds of weight, being careful not to land on Vixo or Magnus.

skill check: Endurance 1d20+9 = 20

Vrrsk't adds his large scaly hand to the effort to simply pull the scepter from its power source. He sets down his shield so he can use both hands. As he does this, he says a brief prayer: "Apoli, grant me the strength to absorb this darkness into myself, where it will be burned away by my inner light."

Smoke
begins to trail upwards from the big dragonborn's nostrils as he seems to be preparing for a blast of heat and light.

[sblock=ooc]
In an effort to keep things moving, I'll go ahead as well.

Dropping the shield to lose the -2 to the check, I'll go with Endurance to try to absorb/redirect the energy into Vrrsk't

1d20+5=18

Invisible castle is back and it love me. :D

I'm...I'm crying right now...not tears of sadness, but tears of joy. Now if we could only get IC to work...lol

time to break out the dusty bag of dice Ukingsken

The runic inscriptions on the alter either altered or damaged, Magnus went back to his pacing. Tugging agitatedly at his wild beard he rambled quietly to himself in circular fashion about patterns and symbols and warding marks. After a few moments he turned excitedly to the alter his eyes bright, but just as quickly the spark of insight faded as his features collapsed back into the confused corridors of his broken mind.

Religion (1d20+9=11)

It was to deduce or recall some symbology that was antithetical to Zal'Ekthees and could be used as a warding mark, but that roll probably isn't going to cut it.

[sblock=IC is back]
and i rolled double digits. :confused:
[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]
congrats on your first double digit roll. You da man! :)
[/sblock]

Grakk looks on as time is running out. "We are so close...This evil must not and will not succeed! Let's finish this!" he states as he punches the alter with his fist.

Morvannon stares in contemplation at the altar. Just on the tip of his tongue is something he read about rituals using blood as an animating force, but it slips away like so much dust through an open hand.

Magnus seems on the verge of something important, but alas his eyes unfocus and he stares off into space lost.

Seeing there may be little time left vrrsk't and Grakk try to absorb the malignant energy into themselves. Their combined weight drags the scepter down and off to the side, nearly toppling it off of the altar. Their bodies are wracked with pain and you watch their skin tighten over their bones and crack as vitality is siphoned from their bodies.

[sblock=ooc] There we go 7 successes, 2 failures. I'll be back to full force in a day or two. I need to recuperate. And it was actually two seperate outdoor concerts.

And ACDC have been touring for their new Black Ice album for over a year I think. They still rock hard, and let me tell you do they have stage presence. It was the largest concert thats going to be held in Canada this year. Over 70 000 people. I'm gonna scan some of the newspaper photos and some of mine and upload em later if anyone is interested lol.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]

I don't know where to go RP wise with this, so I'll give the roll first, and fill in the rest later.
