The Long Arm of Lauto:Broken Wards (DM:Ukingsken)

[sblock=ooc]
Welcome back Ukingsken. I hope you had enough healing surges to account for the physical and mental abuse you took from the ACDC concert, as well as the other bands. :)

even epic ukingsken needs an extended rest after so much rocking,.

I'd love to see pictures, video, even hear stories of a music fest that large!

Gathering himself in front of the altar, Kamotz gathers holy energy around himself as he prepares to make one more attempt at countering the ritual.

Grabbing onto the scepter golden radiance bursts from within his fist. Howling once more he drags the scepter down toward the altar. Putting his full weight into it he yells for Grakk and Vrrsk't to help him.

As the scepter touches the altar, holy energy from Kamotz begins laking through the scepter and into the runes etched on the altar. The light spreading across the altar sparks a memory inside Magnus mind and reaching one hand forward almost casually he adds one quick slash to the blood red symbols and everything goes white.

When your vision clears, the room is silent and still. The malevolant radiance has collapsed and the remnants of the undead are now nothing but soot stains. The scepter lies lifeless on the altar.

[sblock=ooc] Yay victory!! You have done it!

And not only did I have enough healing surges to recover, but I spent an action point to throw a field party with live music, modular tents, christmas lights, and camping lol.[/sblock]

Yeeeesssss!! Nice job everyone!

After a brief moment Grakk moves towards the alter and grabs the septer and brings it to Kamotz. "I believe I speak for all of us...you should have the honor of returning the scepter back to the Temple of Lauto." Grakk nods his head in respect. He then turns to the direction of the blade laying on the floor. He walks over to it and picks it up, inspecting it, and taking a couple of practice swings. Turning to the group he states: "I've never seen a blade like this one before. If no one objects, I'd like to use it, practice with it, learn its ways, and then kill the evil forces which stand in our way."

Is it over? Kamotz asks the casters. Moving with a limp, and hunched over, Kamotz makes his way back to his flask. Picking it up, the shifter searches for remains of Slardazial. (If there are remains, he scoops a moderate amount into the flask, and seals it.)

When Grakk presents the Scepter, Kamotz bows, Thank you Great Warrior. taking the scepter from the bronzed Goliath, You're entitled to another tattoo, our battle was glory. Kamotz spins to the rest of his Pack, Glory to us all! he barks, as he pumps the scepter into the air, a holy prize, and there goal.

In the aftermath Magnus blinked and looked around with that somewhat bewildered stare he sometimes wore. As he regarded artifact and alter his mind seemed to come back to focus and he bent unsteadily studying the marks that had been made there. Cocking his head he listened to that soundless voice and after a moment nodded. With a quick and decisive action he wiped his rough and blooded hand across his arcane alterations obliterating his handiwork in a crimson trail. Stepping back from the defiled thing he broke into a cracked chuckle.

Eeehehehe...It's done...it's done...we're alive...not dead...some things return...some things do not...

Magnus stumped around the alter, repeating that last thought in a low voice.

...some things do not...

Take what was taken...yes...leave this place...yes..., he said, mood once again somber.

Vrrsk't breathes a sigh of relief.

"Excellent work, team. Truly, were it not for our valorous sacrifices for one another in this hideous trial we just faced, we should all be dead -- or worse. Thank you, everyone."

He then inspects the empty suit of plate armor, wondering if it bears an enchantment.

Not so fast Magnus, take in your surroundings, it is not often that the Temple gives full access to laymen. All of us should take in this experience, Both the remains of the battle, and the sacred ground we tread. The shifter replaced the scythe, and hit all fours, looking through artifacts, reading inscriptions, and exploring the area. Pausing to remove his papers and take notes on Slardazial and the battle, as well as interesting parts of the room.

The Pack is stong Vrrsk't, a bond of trust has been created through slaughter. You're welcome, and thanks as well.

After practicing with the fullblade a bit, Grakk sits down a rests, physically and emotionally drained from the battle. Later he gets up, inspired by the searching being down by the rest of his comrades inside the vast tomb. He gets up and searches the tomb as well, looking for anything clues as to why the fallen cleric of Lauto chose to do what he did.

Morvannon slumps to his knees in exhaustion. "That was more excitement than I needed. Kamotz? What was he trying to do here, anyway?"
