The Long Arm of Lauto:Broken Wards (DM:Ukingsken)

These bodies are in excellent condition, part of their contract with the Temple. Seemingly he planned to raise the entire catacombs as undead. An undead army, and a slap in the face. I'm not sure who his patron is though...
Kamotz feels the bruises in his ribs, and the dent in his skull. The dark and light waging war within him, a bright sun burning away his pain, and a dark spiraling aura absorbing his suffering... Both physically comforted the shifter but spiritually tore for his attention.
Morvannon, I feel funny... staggering a few steps, falling to his knees, and throwing up, Kamotz suddenly feels much, much better.
Never mind. I think Magnus is right, we should go get cleaned up...

Grakk states, "Yes, it is time to go." Collecting his stuff, he begins to make his way towards the door and then looks back briefly to see if the others are on their way as well. Thinking outloud, "I better wait for the others. It's too easy to get lost in this place."

Are we all done here? If so, do we post in the Temple of Lauto" thread from here on out?

Just waiting on ukingsken, he may still be dragging from concert, especially if he works full time.

I'll be at gencon, but you don't have to be too jealous because I'm working. Therefore no super fun time go. Maybe a little fun time go...

[sblock=ooc] Nope just post concert moving and waiting on internet hookup[/sblock]

As you glance around the tombs are eerily silent. Many of the corpses are hanging half out of the burial niches, wrappings shredded. The scepter itself seems listless in Kamotz's hands, as if missing some essential part of its essence.

As you all glance around, you note nothing beyond the sword, plate armor and a pile of discarded artifacts scattered around the altar including a set of leather arm braces bearing an arrow and leaf motif, a circlet of woven silver holding a single opal at it's peak, and a pair of supple gloves made of an unknown shimmering black cloth.

The religious significance of this room on the other hand is immense. Both a chapel and mass burial site, this room holds the bodies of no less then 3 high priests, as well as a hundred or more acolytes. Much of the stonework and wards have been damaged or tainted, and will need to be repaired, especially the column.

[sblock=ooc] Experience awards will be in my next post, just running some errands and a lot of reading to catch up on. But not to fear I am back for real now![/sblock]

Grakk heads back to the group. "Shall we go now?" Taking a final look around the room and noticing all of the destruction, he states to the cleric in a somber voice, "Kamotz, would you like us to rebury the bodies of the dead before we leave, or is that a matter for the Temple of Lauto to do? I know that if the dead here were members of my ancestors, I couldn't leave without a proper burial."

In response to Kamotz's query, Morvannon moves closer to the altar. "I'm not sure, but...." He trails off as the stone rod in his hand begins to glow softly. Greenish symbols traced on the leather of the armbands begin a matching glow as he approaches them. "Is that...."

*yes. it is. how did that corruptor get these*
*How in Palladys's name should I know?*
*something to ask the death-worshippers, perhaps*

Morvannon reached out and slid the bracers onto his forearms. A bright green light flared from the symbols before fading into the tracings.

[sblock=ooc]I think I'm the only one in the group who uses ranged basic attacks with any sort of frequency, so I would lurve those bracers. *grin*[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc] Well once I found out I was probably gonna have all of you again next adventure, I kind of "balanced" the loot out so that yur all on par with where you should be...ish.

So do not doubt sir that those bracers were an "accident" ;)[/sblock]
