"Is your other assosiate in that house beyond the mill?"
"Certainly could be." The Knight admits. "The big man wants his brother back, right? Only one way to find out... he might not be there tomorrow, even if he is today."

Rowan growls in frustration.

"He was, at best, a business associate. Undead were only one of his loathesome habits..."
"Well, then, I suppose we'd better drag what's left of him back to the monastery", Boog said dryly. "And you can answer for your actions as well." Boog set about trying to devise some means of transport for the priest's corpse...something to drag behind the knight's horse, if the man's "honor" didn't extend so far as to carrying a fallen "business associate" on his mount.

The Knight is willing to carry the dead Cleric's body.
"Well, that settles that", Boog remarked to his companions. "Let's be on our way."[sblock=Patlin: ]Did Boog ever retrieve the crossbow bolt that he fired at the cleric?[/sblock]

"We should let Karin know as well," Juliana says.

OOC: Anything of note on the body?

Walking over to inspect the body, Julianna is just in time to see the Knight remove a potion from the belt pouch.

Additional inspection reveals that the Cleric's light wooden shield is made of a wood of unusual quality, though the armor and morningstar are nothing special. The Cleric also has two scrolls.

"What's that you're taking from the body?" Juliana asks pointedly.

OOC: She was looking at him in post 258, before the knight got to him, but no biggie, she probably missed it :) Also, you should figure Karin's XP for when she left

ooc: KB said she was going to retire Karin, so I figure her xp is moot. If it matters, let's say 400 xp total.

ic: "This? Just a drink. I'm a bit thirsty. Why, would you like to drink it?"

Boog glanced glumly at the broken remnant of the bolt that he had fired at the cleric...apparently, it had glanced off his armor and got the worst end of the deal. Spying the knight trying to pilfer the potion, he was outraged. "Hey, he may have been your 'business partner', but we killed him fair and square. 'To the victors go the spoils', and all that." Glowering at the man, he continued, "Tell you what...we'll hold on to it, and if the monks who were holding the tournament that you kidnapped a bystander from agree that it's rightfully yours, we'll give it to you."

ooc: Oops, thanks for rolling on that El Jefe.

The Knight turns over the potion without further comment.

You are unable to locate Karin, and continue on to the monastery. On arrival, the monks make arrangements for your healing and inquire as to your progress. Your prisoner is removed to a cell.

As the knight was led away, Boog turned to his companions. "I don't need any healing", he allowed, "but the earlier I get some rest, the quicker I can recover the Power we need to get your brother back."

Anyone want to accomplish anything before morning? Otherwise, let me know how you respond to the monks questions and we can have the sun rise! :)

Boog wanted nothing more than to meditate and regain his Power, but the monks did deserve an answer. "The old seer said that there would be three", he stated, "and it would seem she was right. First the knight, then the clergyman, and there is at least one more in the miller's house that we dared not confront, weakened as we were. I believe they think that one of their three captives is a lycanthrope, and that they have some use for something in that person's blood. The knight said they would succeed in extracting it by noon, tomorrow, so I am anxious to recover my Power as quickly as possible."

Boog was well-rested and ready to go, his mind sharp and humming with Power. He sensed the Companion more keenly than he usually did. The Companion never communicated directly with Boog, but this morning, Boog felt that if it did, it would say something like, "Prepare thyself - you will advance to new realms of Power today, or perish in the attempt".

Boog had felt like that in the middle of the race that he and Juliana would have won, had it not been interrupted -- but this time, the message, and the stakes, were more salient.

Juliana meditates in the morning with her crystal in her lap for a short time before she begins her weapon excersizes. She goes through her routine quickly before she heads back to her room to grab her gear.

Boog declared himself ready to face whoever dwelt in the miller's house, or at least as ready as he could be.

OOC: Probably see hold the scrolls, sell them later (Assuming they weren't immediately readable), as well as the shield (Can be left in someone's room). Did the knight have anything special on him? I can't remember, but I know he handed it over to us.

Once they arive at the Miller's house, Juliana will activate Thicken Skin.
