Bront said:"Is your other assosiate in that house beyond the mill?"
"Well, then, I suppose we'd better drag what's left of him back to the monastery", Boog said dryly. "And you can answer for your actions as well." Boog set about trying to devise some means of transport for the priest's corpse...something to drag behind the knight's horse, if the man's "honor" didn't extend so far as to carrying a fallen "business associate" on his mount.Patlin said:"He was, at best, a business associate. Undead were only one of his loathesome habits..."
"Well, that settles that", Boog remarked to his companions. "Let's be on our way."[sblock=Patlin: ]Did Boog ever retrieve the crossbow bolt that he fired at the cleric?[/sblock]Patlin said:The Knight is willing to carry the dead Cleric's body.
Bront said:"What's that you're taking from the body?" Juliana asks pointedly.
OOC: She was looking at him in post 258, before the knight got to him, but no biggie, she probably missed itAlso, you should figure Karin's XP for when she left
Boog glanced glumly at the broken remnant of the bolt that he had fired at the cleric...apparently, it had glanced off his armor and got the worst end of the deal. Spying the knight trying to pilfer the potion, he was outraged. "Hey, he may have been your 'business partner', but we killed him fair and square. 'To the victors go the spoils', and all that." Glowering at the man, he continued, "Tell you what...we'll hold on to it, and if the monks who were holding the tournament that you kidnapped a bystander from agree that it's rightfully yours, we'll give it to you."Patlin said:Walking over to inspect the body, Julianna is just in time to see the Knight remove a potion from the belt pouch.
As the knight was led away, Boog turned to his companions. "I don't need any healing", he allowed, "but the earlier I get some rest, the quicker I can recover the Power we need to get your brother back."Patlin said:On arrival, the monks make arrangements for your healing and inquire as to your progress. Your prisoner is removed to a cell.
Boog wanted nothing more than to meditate and regain his Power, but the monks did deserve an answer. "The old seer said that there would be three", he stated, "and it would seem she was right. First the knight, then the clergyman, and there is at least one more in the miller's house that we dared not confront, weakened as we were. I believe they think that one of their three captives is a lycanthrope, and that they have some use for something in that person's blood. The knight said they would succeed in extracting it by noon, tomorrow, so I am anxious to recover my Power as quickly as possible."Patlin said:Anyone want to accomplish anything before morning? Otherwise, let me know how you respond to the monks questions and we can have the sun rise!![]()
Boog was well-rested and ready to go, his mind sharp and humming with Power. He sensed the Companion more keenly than he usually did. The Companion never communicated directly with Boog, but this morning, Boog felt that if it did, it would say something like, "Prepare thyself - you will advance to new realms of Power today, or perish in the attempt".Patlin said:After everyone is healed and rested, Rowan hurries everyone along, eager to get started in order to rescue his brother.
Boog declared himself ready to face whoever dwelt in the miller's house, or at least as ready as he could be.Patlin said:Anything else to do first, or are you heading back to the mill?
