Melting iron is beyond standard medieval technology.

Not sure if you are being serious here, but the Romans had iron weapons and could work iron, including melting iron, long before the medieval era.

Slightly dated way of accounting for history, but stone age, bronze age, iron age, classical period, medieval era, renaissance, early-modern and modern.

If you were joking, consider it over my head.

Cheers :)

I'm tempted to make a villain for a chase scene and stat him out like a 007 car, with either his ride or his outfit kitted out with ready-to-deploy items from the standard equipment list, so that he can just pull a cord and scatter oil or caltrops or ball bearings in his wake.
So a Robe of Useful Items, but stylish?

You can throw trip hazards like caltrops, balls, oil, a small boat, a sack, a couple of mastiffs, or even a pit!

Just make sure the villian is wearing the OP roller skates with the Ben Hur wheel blades on them to attack the party with while doing roll-bys.

Boots of Speed that let you cast Grease 3/day, but only while taking the Dash action, and only behind you.
