(Banion also has a 5' step available. If the mage survives, he'll use it to close in more... otherwise, he'll step in a direction he figures most likely to allow him to stay out of melee.)

ooc: I mentioned how the mage is out of sight (total cover). You can't throw the mindblade at him. On the other hand, staying out of melee can prove to be difficult as Draig has fallen unconscious and the guy that dropped him is unhurt. You can change targets if you want.

Still spying the enemy mage, Banion advances slightly, manifesting another blade that quietly pulses with power.

Sorry, thought the above indicated I could target the mage. If I can't, I'll throw at the fellow who took Draig down.

Also, if your willing to take suggestions re: Beamer, perhaps he could get a healing potion into Draig, or at least stabilize him?

Draigs cries with pain as the shortsword penetrates his side. A red mist clouds over his eyes as he feels the strength drain from his body, his legs no longer strong enough to hold his weight he drops to the floor. Blood clouds his vision until all goes black, his final thought cursing the orcs.

ooc: Draig will, obviously, just try to stabilise while he's unconcious.

ooc: Notice that I separate the combat posts in fluff and crunch. Fluff may be misleading: I can change initiative orders, add or substract attacks (if a to hit roll fails by a lot I may say that "he stumbled and didn´t have the opportunity to attack", for example). For more accurate rules, see the ooc stuff.

Beamer can´t reach Draig in one round, it takes a move equivalent action to draw a potion anyway, and Draig is still threatened. I think it´ll be better to finish Draig´s attacker using more magic missiles, unless any of you have any other suggestion. In any case, next post coming tomorrow.

Round Four

The guy that downed Draig spits on the dwarf and turns his attention to Banion just in time to have the halfling´s mindblade buried in his chest. Curiously, he grabs his head in pain, not the wound. Seeing his opportunity and decided to help Draig, Beamer advances and again his magic darts strike true, severely wounding the foe, who gets away limping. He reaches Draig´s position, ready to feed him a healing potion*.

As far as things are getting slightly better they become worse. The other attackers around the cart finally shake the gleaming dust from them, and the mage with the wand again comes out and shoots yet another stream of fire. This one hits Banion in the shoulder, but to the mage´s frustration the hafling has enough reflexes to dodge the worst of it, otherwise he would have been totally burned.

[ooc: Banion’s mindblade hit the second half-orc squarely

Beamer casts Magic Missile again, disabling the enemy Banion just wounded and moves forward decided to help the wounded dwarf*

Draig bleeds.

The disabled attacker flees as fast as he can.

The mage abandons his cover and attacks again with the wand, hitting Banion and dealing 14 damage.

Glitterdust ends.

Party status: Beamer 13 damage, Banion 14 damage, Draig 23 damage

Banion’s spells: 0:5 1:2 2:2

*Banion doesn´t have a potion in hand; retrieving one is a move equivalent action and making an unconscious character drink one is a full round action, so Draig can be healed at the earliest in round 6. Meanwhile he can do a Heal check to stop the bleeding, or other actions, if you think his spellcasting would be more valuable.]

While the mage is out, he's a high priority. The only higher one would be if Beamer thinks Draig is likely to die without immediate help.

Banion will fight defensively, hurling another mindblade at the wizard and manifesting a new blade.

(Crunch post to follow.)

[sblock=Fighting Defensively is -4 Attack, +3 AC]If you have 5 or more ranks in Tumble, you gain a +3 dodge bonus to AC when fighting defensively instead of the usual +2 dodge bonus to AC.

Fighting Defensively as a Standard Action
You can choose to fight defensively when attacking. If you do so, you take a -4 penalty on all attacks in a round to gain a +2 dodge bonus to AC for the same round. See also: Fighting Defensively as a Full-Round Action. [/sblock]

Fighting Defensively Thrown Mindblade (1d20+6=14, 1d4+2=3)
