Thoughts on PHBII

The barbarian will not be a controller. First of all, controllers have far too few HP for a barbarian. Next, look at the Rogue; he's shifting people a lot, as well as moving and attacking. And many, MANY skirmishers in the MM can "Move x squares, make y number of attacks, do not incur OAs". The barbarian screams striker to me, because very little of his abilities correspond with "Tieing enemy down".
I could see the Barbarian working either as a striker or as a defender. The point of the barb after all is to be so crazy that the enemies have to focus on him over attacking others. Admittedly its more of a WoW form of agro than what the controllers normally use, but its certainly conceptually agro.

You know. One thing that might make the Barbarian a nice defender is if the Barb's "Mark" lets it do more damage to someone who doesn't attack the Barb.

ooo, an at will power STR +2 vs AC Hit:2[w]+str Miss:str if his mark attacked someone else last round. That's great.

edit: plus he can shift 5 as a move action to get adjacent to his mark or something like that. That would be a good base model for a crazed barbarian.
