Ties that Bind - 3.5 Forgotten Realms Gestalt

Umm...If you are a changeling I think the ability you have is as the disguise self spell at will (although I could be wrong about this, it could be alter self). If it is the former, then you won't be able to take forms with wings or faster movement rates. I will look it up to see which one it is, but I really think it is disguise self.
It is the disguise self version... ok, so now I only need to find out how I can get acces to the alter self version or get a polymorph into humanoids and animals.

Using the precedent of the Hat of Disguise, I would allow a continuous effect item of Alter Self. The cost would be 2 (Spell Level) x 5 (Caster Level) x 2,000 x 1.5 (10 min/level duration) = 30,000. Of course if you wanted forms with less that 5 HD or if you only wanted the item to work a couple of times per day, then the cost would be much less, but this is the basic item.

Polymorph would be much better, but it also costs a shitload to have an item like that made. Keep in mind that there are some very useful forms for Alter Self, but as a general rule any transformative spell usually works best if you have access to outsider forms.

One way around that is to take a PrC to become an Outsider, at which point you can Alter Self into Outsiders :D

That is one way, but it seems a little long and drawn out. I'm a big fan of either playing an outsider for this purpose (planetouched work well), taking the otherworldly feat, or using the fiendform combo spell. Geez, I hope I didn't just give the players ideas.[/sblock]

That always works too, but remember to ban that Chronothingy from Fiend Folio!

See...now if you wouldn't go and bring things like that up then I wouldn't have to ban them for player use and I would feel a lot better about myself when I used them against the PCs. You just have to go and ruin it for everyone. ;)[/sblock]

Important Announcement

Ok, I've been kicking an idea around in the back of my head for a little while now, and I've decided to run with it.

As I'm sure you all noticed, this game will only be accepting three players. The reason for this is not unrelated to my reason for running a Gestalt game-with less players in a PbP the game will move along more quickly. The reason Gestalt is attached is because this allows three players to effectively cover all the essential roles in a party.

The problem is that I have a lot more than 3 applicants (I think it was over 12 last time I checked), which is obviously normal for recruiting threads. Instead of turning away a bunch of good character concept though, I'm going to do something else.

I will be running two game threads for Ties that Bind instead of one (meaning six people will get a chance to play). The original game will commence as planned with the characters in Silverymoon hopefully concerning themselves with keeping the Federation together (I don't think I explained this yet, but that will basically be the starting point). These are the "heroes."

The second thread will have characters starting in Citadel Adbar, concerning themselves with something other than keeping the federation together. This group will not be evil per say, they just wont fit the bill of hero as well as mercenaries (although I'm not sure that is the word to use either...cause mercs usually get paid and stuff ;)).

I cannot stress enought that the two groups will not be directly oppossed to one another (unless that developes through the game in some way). They will simply be different groups of adventurers experiencing the same world from different perspectives.

So there you have it. Sadly there will still only be room for about half of the people, but at least this will give a few more of you a chance to play.

- Do need anything more from me on my character's concept. I know that you said that you were fine with it but still. It has been a long week and I am not too sure if I sent you anything more. Thanks.

Be careful with running two games, pbp requires more time than it seems.

Anyway, I realized that my character would be more rounded and complete with one level of Exotic weapons master (endind as ranger 2/Fighter 4/Tempest5/Exotic weapons master 1 -- Wizard 12), and the Shaky flaw (though I´d like to call it Poor aim, it fits better)

Well submissions will be closed in about 2 hours and after that everyone who has a character in will have time to add some finishing touches if they need to. I will also review all of the characters at that time and if I think I would better understand one of them with some more information I will ask for it. So basically, some time in the near future I will answer this question for everyone.

Yes, I can see that it will take quite a bit of time to run, but I'm ok with that in my current situation.
