What kind of 'offensive' art are we looking for here? Disemboweled corpses? Full frontal? Blackface?
Can you post any examples of Disneyfication, or art being "non offensive to everyone" or "age neutral?"I don't know anyone that talks about DND art anymore. I think Disneyfication as mentioned earlier is a good way to describe it. It's just art for the purpose of being non offensive to everyone and an attempt to make it age neutral.
Just for the sake of argument, do you believe we will see a printing like the Book of Vile Darkness again? Can you post any examples of Disneyfication, or art being "non offensive to everyone" or "age neutral?"
I doubt this is a modern trend, but I'd like to see what makes you think it is!
Everyone I know that plays talks about the art.
I don't think the BoVD is an example of an old trend in D&D art, though. Most older art would not match the BoVD aesthetic.Just for the sake of argument, do you believe we will see a printing like the Book of Vile Darkness again?
No, and thank goodness. That thing was trashy wannabe edgelord shovelware.Just for the sake of argument, do you believe we will see a printing like the Book of Vile Darkness again?
Yeah, there's not a lot of 'adult' in the old d&d art.I don't think the BoVD is an example of an old trend in D&D art, though. Most older art would not match the BoVD aesthetic.
I'd agree, but I also believe a book like BoVD is about as likely as the sun going supernova in the next week, and that may cover part of the 'non offensive age neutral' discussion.I don't think the BoVD is an example of an old trend in D&D art, though. Most older art would not match the BoVD aesthetic.
Be that as it may, thats not why it wont be printed by Wizards of 2022.No, and thank goodness. That thing was trashy wannabe edgelord shovelware.
