Warlock Optimization

Hi everyone. I've been reading the boards for a few months, and I finally decided to make an account because I need some help :p

I'm playing in a 3.5 campaign that's going into epic levels soon. We are level 20, and our party has a Kineticist Psion (played by me), a Shadowcraft mage, and a Dragon Shaman. The Dragon Shaman's player feels like his character is underpowered and wants to reroll. He said he wanted to make a ranged blaster type character, so I suggested Warlock.

Right now I'm thinking warlock 16/ Hellfire Warlock3/ Binder 1 (for Naberius). Any suggestions for good invocations, gear, or PrCs I might have overlooked?

Thanks in advance :)

It's a horrible pity that Warlocks came so relatively late in 3.5 and never got much support. They're probably my favorite non-core base class, next to the Beguiler and the Binder.

I'd see if your DM might be willing to allow you access to the Dragonfire Adept's invocations - should be balanced well enough, and gives you a few more options to choose from.

That's because being a Cleric is awesomesauce and provides limitless options, not because being a Warlock gives you a bunch of options.

But to be fair, Warlocks probably have all they need in Complete Arcane and Complete Mage. It's just that I like agonizing over small details of a build, which kinda makes tons of options a necessity for me...

I thought eldritch theurge was the arcane caster/ warlock hybrid. The one who can eldritch blast and fireball you as part of the same action.

How about an Eldritch Disciple? It is the divine version of the Eldritch Theurge. As it stands the Psion is the most resilient character. This has cleric hit die, saves, and BAB, fully advances invocations/eldritch blast, 9/10 divine casting, and few nifty abilities of your choice(namely healing blast). This will give him a lot of versatility, the party a lot of support, and while still being a very good warlock. The Eldritch theurge is primarily a blaster, a good one, but a blaster none the less.

So our DM approved the Ebon Initiate, so we're probably gonna go with that because it can do more damage with fewer shenanigans, and it's just stronger overall.
Not that it matters that much because we're taking a break from our current campaign to start up a new campaign with a lower level party. Now we have deal with the chaos our epic level party caused in the region ;)
Everyone is playing with monster classes and ignoring up to +5 LA, so I'm off to go build my pixie malconvoker :)
