How much damage would a dead flumph deal? Assume it's being held by an eyestalk, not a tentacle.
Maybe d6 or d8? Flumphs are commonly known as versatile weapons.

But what about the warflumph, the longflumph, or the recurved composite flumph?
Not so much in 5th since the sword only seems to work for the gith who willed it into being. For the sake of completeness, let us not forget the famed githyanki silver swords. So great, those things.
Hey it's a trophy that gets you more trophies. Deck out your stronghold in silver blades they keep delivering to you. Just listen for the BAMPH! and you'll know it's the Psychic Psycho Silver Sword Senders...except for the "hunt down and kill any non-Githyanki who wields one" bit. That's not so great.
Hey, it can be fun for some PCs when the XP comes to them! It's the best part!
For the DM, anyway.
That was sort of my point. It seems like a massive waste of time for the Gith to send out teams after people who have already proven themselves dangerous to recover a sword that is no use to them and that they must have gigantic piles of (given that they are willed into existence by anyone who is high enough level to be allowed to use them, and those people go and get devoured by their queen in short order).Hey it's a trophy that gets you more trophies. Do you think that it is accidental they are so willing to go on such suicide missions rather than have their souls eaten by their bi... er Lich Queen? That was sort of my point.
