D&D 5E What Class Would Marvel Characters Have in D&D?

His takes on the topic so far:
Thor Barbarian,
Scarlet Witch Sorc,
Brother Voodoo Warlock or Wizard,
Captain America Paladin,
Hawkeye Rogue (though could be Ranger),
Black Widow Rogue Assassin,
Hulk Barbarian with a Curse,
Loki as a charismatic devil of some kind with a contract.

Well, are we talking Comic Marvel Characters or Movie Marvel Characters? Most people talk about the latter, but I'll assume it's the former since that's what his profession is.

I outright disagree with Hawkeye, he makes way too many attacks in a round for a Rogue, and as far as I can isn't enough of a wilderness expert to be a Ranger. Battlemaster Fighter, or Eldritch knight with spells refluffed as trick arrows makes mroe sense to me.

I could see Thor justified a number of ways. Barbarian is one of them, but so is Fighter, Storm Sorcerer, or Tempest cleric. Admittedly Comic book Thor currently does not have Mjolnir, is not displaying any Lightning powers, and even no longer wearing any type of armored clothing, so that might be where he was going with Barbarian.

I could see Loki as a sorcerer. Divine (but going dark with it) or Shadow seem like appropriate fits.

I assume Asgardians get that Goliath trait about lifting double the normal weight.

Thor is not a barbarian, I reckon he is definitely a high level tempest cleric.

I could see Thor as a Barbarian, particularly now that we have that new elemental themed barbarian in Xanathar's. One of his early traits was falling into a battle madness but it isn't something that happens now to the best of my knowledge. I could also see him as an Eldritch Knight with spells of thunder and lightning although maybe his casting stat is charisma instead of intelligence.

Captain America I think definitely fits with Paladin but I'd also like him as a battlemaster.

With Xanathar's I think that we can fit Hawkeye in as an arcane archer.

The others seem okay to me.

Loki for Lore Bard. Expertise in Deception with Trickery and Illusion spells. Although a case could be made for AT Rogue.

Widow could have some Monk on top of Assassin

It's the "super" in "superhero" that tipped me off.

It's hard to see any comic book character as a straight class, except for some boring C-listers like Black Knight.Thor, to me, is a multiclass Bear Totem Barbarian and Tempest Cleric. He's too damn resilient to be anything else, and his weakness to mental sorcery makes perfect sense. His strength would be doubled with his Girdle of Strength, 'Megingjörð', and further accentuated with his Gauntlets of Power, 'Járngreipr'. (...What, you thought the Gauntlets of Ogre Power and Girdle of Giant Strength were original inventions? Ha!)

I agree with Cap as a 4e Warlord or 5e Paladin / Battlemaster. His tactics and ability to get the best out of his allies mean maneuvers that give everyone else extra actions IMO. And, this is probably obvious, but Shield Master / Sharpshooter / Inspiring Leader / Athlete / Great Weapon Master / Sentinel / Martial Adept.

Hawkeye is a reflavored multiclass Ranger / Arcane Trickster, for sure. His spell focus is his bow, and he imbues his material components into arrows, and uses them to cast stuff like Fog Cloud, Darkness, Faerie Fire or Hold Person. Oh, damn - I totally want to play this character now.

Spider Man is a reflavored Monk, maybe? With Lucky, Observant, Alert, and maybe even Mobile (even though it's a bit redundant, it would conserve Ki) - those would explain his unbelievable ability to avoid taking damage and zip around the room bashing people at will.

What? Me, a comic book fan, from way back? How could you ever tell?
