When Journalists Attack: Electioneering (Day 1)

"Actually, I think I may have just spotted my own ticket in - the back way."

Elias nods at the gap between the buildings. "I hadn't noticed that the first time around - I came in from a different angle. But I bet I can clear that quickly and quietly and sneak into the backyard for a peek around. If you guys get in easily, you can just let me in the back way. If I can get in, I may be able to clear things out from the inside with virtually no muss or fuss."

He shrugs. "Of course, I'm just a photographer - I'll go with your call on this one, Justin. I think you've probably got the most field experience in situations like this."

He winks at Selprin - and just for posterity, he 'snaps' a pic of her in the captain's uniform before she can give herself a 'field demotion.'

"Good call, Elias. Take the back way in." Justin looks over to the house. "See if you can get some good snaps, and don't get spotted. Good luck." Justin starts to head towards the front gate.

Sel looks at Elias, and smiles. "We'll treasure that photo for ever and ever, won't we? Until I get done for impersonating a guardsman. Heh. Bye, Honey." She giggles a little and winks back. Sel taps her ring twice this time, and seconds later, she is wearing the uniform that would fit a Corporal. She looks to Bambie. "Shall we go on in, ma'am? We should not keep the Lady waiting." She heads on to the front gate, catching up to Justin and walking alongside him.

As you walk up to the gate that separates the somewhat dirty street from the freshly-cut, bright green lawn, the city guard appears to have taken lessons in the age-old discipline of falling asleep with his eyes open. His eyes are closed, he's partially leaning on the gate post, and he doesn't appear to have noticed your approach to about ten feet within him. The gate itself is open, and about five feet wide.

Sell walks up to within three feet of the guard, and inspects his uniform to determine his rank. Then she coughs loudly, to awaken the guard.

Lower Rank than Guard:
Sel salutes, stands to attention, and holds in the position until the guard salutes back. Then she speaks. "Sir! I have been ordered to escort these people into the building to ensure Miss Charmichael's wellbeing! Permission to enter, Sir?"

Same Rank as Guard:
Sel salutes in a casual way and nods, pretending to be slightly tired. "Hey. I've been sent along with the doctor and his assistant to escort them to Miss Charmichael. Can we go in?"

Higher Rank than Guard:
Sel waits for the guard to salute, coughing heavily if he forgets in an attempt to remind him. "At ease. I'm here to help these people see to Miss Charmichael's mental and physical health. You are here to guard this doorway. See to it that it is done properly!" Sell then proceeds to enter.

Justin taps his foot impatiently and glowers at the unfortunate guardsman.

"Hurry up, can't you? I do have other patients to see." he snaps irritably.

His daze wears off in a half-second, which gives way to a look in his eyes of unbridled horror as he notices your rank.

"Sorry, sir! No excuse, sir! Right away, sir! The suspect is inside the house, sir, while I watch this gate, sir!"

He snaps fully to attention, and turns away from you to look rigidly out into the street, trying to hide the bright red color in his cheeks and failing miserably.

The stone walkway leads to the door of the two-story house. There are a few windows, but none of you can spot anything interesting.

OOC: Is this game still rolling? If yes, and you're waiting on a post from me, then sorry :o, I'll get one up. But I was kind of waiting for Sel to show us into the building.

[OOC: sorry guys I was in the hospital]

Bambi gets a good "picture" of the guard and continues to act the sub-serviant part. But she will ask the Guard. So Officer. What can you tell me about what happened? What would you say is the wife's mood?
