Kevin shouldn't play D&D. He knows what he did.

"Kevin" is SORRY okay. I --, I mean HE did not realize that stuff was 120 proof and he won't do it again. Jeez.Kevin.

This is a bit weird to me, in two respects.If D&D can't be all things to all people, then that means some people are better off not playing D&D.
This thread seeks to identify people who shouldn't play D&D.
<snip>
Which preferences does D&D not cater to? Like if you want X out of TTRPGs, don't play D&D and go play some other game instead?
What does this mean?D&D is for everyone.
So... D&D players specifically?People who don't want to play D&D, probably shouldn't play D&D.
Why not?And designing the game to remove those setbacks and losses is NOT the answer.
Also, Mindy is a hamster. Her lack of higher reasoning and opposable thumbs make it difficult for her to play D&D.Mindy. Mindy should not play Dungeons and Dragons. Mindy gets too stressed out by Dungeons and Dragons because she is so afraid her character will die. It's not fun for her. She likes creating characters but she doesn't want them to die. It is a cruelty to oneself to create something you love, then go put it into dangerous situations where it could die. Mindy, should not play Dungeons and Dragons.
A lot of conversations about this sort of stuff are weird to me.Why not?
They exist and are called Cozy RPGs.A lot of conversations about this sort of stuff are weird to me.
I mean, here are two distinct questions:
(1) Ought there to be RPGs for players who don't want to experience unexpected setbacks and losses? Sure, why not?
