Who still plays older versions of D&D?

What version of pre-3e D&D are you still playing?

Unfortunately, without including a 'none of the above' option, you prevent those who would answer thus from *seeing* the answer to your poll. I mean, I guess I could log out and view it as a guest, but... :\

I almost answered RC/Moldvay/Cook just to see the answers, since I *would* play that game again about as readily as 3e.

Seeing as this thread started over a year ago, it'd be interesting to see if anyone has changed editions since, from 1 to 3, or 3 to 0, or whatever.

Oh, and 1e all the way here; 25 years and counting...

My brother runs a 1e AD&D game that we play occasionally. I'm on haitus until next Tuesday when I can start playing again, but since the "main" game is now The Fantasy Trip I don't know if I will be playing D&D, or my C&C game until after the new year.

currently refereeing an OD&D(1974) campaign

I'm in this game, along with loki44 and howandwhy99.

As they have said, it is great fun. I attribute this as much to diaglo's DMing ability as I do to the ruleset.

Nope.

And probably never would again.

I remember playing in one last 2E event at GEN CON 2000 with friends, and all of us being eager for it to end.

Not that I did not have fun with the older rulesets at the time - but now? Uh-uh.

Well, except maybe the old Basic/Expert, etc. . . D&D - I can imagine a good Known World campaign getting my interest.

I'm still a big fan of AD&D 1E... still, i would like to play some 2nd edition or basic which i haven't done in a long time... the problem is finding the time!

You really need a "Never, ever would I play a prior edition" option. I think it would be very revealing. So, that said, I would never consider DMing a prior edition. But maybe, just maybe, I might do it if someone else DMed and came up with the idea. The wonky rules of 1E and 2E used to drive me nuts.
As a player, who cares? If the adventure is fun, I'd probably do it.
