OOC: The big scorpion is now dazed. That's a bit more freedom to move about at least. How's the eladrin doing after Damen and Tarkus's hits?

And I can't rely on doing anything this fight. These things all have stupid high defenses compared to Papolstaanas's piddly little attacks. He has a less than even chance of hitting Will with a weapon attack, for pity's sake.

Papolstaanas starts as the angel vanishes. "Something's wrong with me," he mumbles. "I keep seeing people appear and disappear. And now the melon is--not the melon, the giant corp... carp... It's something starting with 'cuh.'" Papolstaanas walks away from the scorpion, absentmindedly ducking under its tail. "I'll help, Kauldron!" he declares suddenly, running to the paladin's side and pointing his sword threateningly at Cyr. "Wait a second. This fellow looks familiar. Is he fighting us? Why is he fighting us?"

Phoenix stirs to life and rolls to her feet, summoning a blazing phoenix of pale yellow-white flame between the Dragon and the Eladrin. The dragon fire burns alongside the flames flickering along Phoenix's body as she calls up her magic, some flames lashing out while others form a protective burning barrier around her.

"Your turn," she snarls at the dragon as the phoenix swings one of its wings and a blast of flame envelops the dragon. The dragon catches fire, the flames so pure they burn even the fiery beast, the heat from the summoned phoenix is so intense, the dragon and eladrin smolder just being near it.

OOC: Quick damage summary: The dragon will take a total of 37 fire damage and then 5 ongoing fire(all ignores resists). The eladrin will take 12. Assuming they start their turns next to the Flaming Sphere that is.

I'll use the attached picture for my flaming sphere icon if it'll work.

1) If an enemy hits Phoenix's AC or Reflex and would miss if Phoenix's AC/Ref was 4 higher, she triggers Shield as an Immediate Interrupt, gaining +4 AC/Ref TENT.

OOC: Um, D&D has always been that way for us so I automatically assumed it was a rule... I'll revise my turn if that isn't so.

In the absence of an RAW, and with the terrain being relative safe, I'll go with you maintaining grip of them. If you were on a steep inclince, or in water, or other crazy terrain I'd rule differently.

After a few google attempts there's no actual formal rule for this. Consensus is it falls into DM ruling, so let's go with it.

His hands a blur, deva digs out a potion and quaffs it, before taking deep breath in anticipation of the pain that will follow if scorpion targets him instead of impenetrable fortress that is his goblin companion.

He then whirls his staff and myriad of blades materialize around Kauldron, protecting him and cutting into the scorpions.

Note: didn't include CA from dazed in the attack, but didn't forget he cannot make OAs so it's safe :) Don't forget scorpions get damaged on the start of their turns (I forget if they already did :( - getting old)



Imm Reaction: Preserver's Rebuke if any enemy hits any ally, Kauldron and Papo gain +1 to all defenses vs bloodied creatures until THE END OF ENCOUNTER - also slide one character (I'll let renau1g decide, since a) I don't really know where everyone is and b) depends if it even triggers

*Kauldron beings to grow soft at first then gets brighter and brighter. Holy flame erupts upon his body, consuming his form. His mere presence making those around him want to get rid of his maddening form. He spins his blade in his hand, so that the back of his blade rested against his forearm. He raised his shield once again and rolled underneath the massive scorpion taking a slash at his protected underbelly before roll away and back to his feet.*
