D&D 5E Sneak Attack Critical

2d6 (weapon) + 4 + 6d6 (sneak attack) on a crit.

Critical hit doubles all dice (plus extra dice with the Half-Orc or Barbarian features).

All dice are doubled. No static modifiers are.

So a poison using +2d6 dice would double. Poison giving +5 damage will not.

That's only if it's a poison with a save rather than directly applied on hit (as with some wild shape forms/pet like Giant Toad)

One of my houserules is going to be to change crits.

Change to max damage plus one extra roll of weapon dice and that's it. No doubling SA dice, or smite dice, poison etc - it's just overkill/unnecessary, especially for paladins.

And the standard crit of just double dice can sometimes result in wonky, very average damage crits... which is most irksome to me!

would SA or Smite be maximized as well? if so, i think that's how i actually ran crits for most the playtest while the official rules were so fluxxy.
