Was Lee considered an A list actor when he was cast in LoTR? I think most would agree he was not. Not by the definition of what an A list actor is.

Now people have got me thinking I mustve seen at least one movie with him, and "Love Actually" somewhat rings a bell but I looked up his movies again and didnt see even one. Well looks I have no choice but to suffer through D&D: the Next Movie just to say I've seen a Hugh Grant movie.

I can't recommend The Gentlemen enough, and like Morris mention he even plays a villain in it.

I could easily see Hugh Grant do an amazing job playing Raistlin Majere or a similar character. Charismatic, manipulative, absolutely ruthless.

In fact such a role might even be a little disappointing just because it isn't even much of a stretch for him and he could sleep through it.
