By Challenge Rating the dragons in the book are:
  • Ancient crystal (19)
  • Ancient topaz (20)
  • Ancient emerald (21)
  • Ancient moonstone (21)
  • Ancient sapphire (22)
  • Elder brain dragon (22)
  • Ancient amethyst (23)
  • Ancient dragon turtle (24)
  • Gem greatwyrm (26)
  • Chromatic greatwyrm (27)

Interestingly, it appears that the great wyrm category is divided into three -- gem, chromatic, metallic -- rather than by each dragon type.

There's also an alphabetical list of all 20 dragon types in the book:
  • Amethyst
  • Black
  • Blue
  • Brass
  • Bronze
  • Copper

  • Dragon turtle
  • Emerald

  • Red
  • Sapphire
  • Shadow
  • Silver
  • Topaz
  • White

This one I like actually. I like that they have power similar to gods, but are different. It stems from my BECMI days when dragons where treated differently than gods (at least initially). I like that idea that as a dragon ages it become more and more powerful until it reaches god-like status.

But I understand why you might not like it. It just happens to fit my preferred dragon fiction better.

I don't object to that style of Dragon, it's retconning preexisting Dragon Gods to demote them.

The eyedragon as new creature is relatively original and different, dreadful but not too scary and it can be sold as toy for children.

The elder brain dragon sounds like the ultimate Lovecraftian nightmare as final boss, but I miss the brainstealer as dragon with age category. It was designed by Paizo for Dragon Magazine but it is copyright by WotC, isn't it? Now I wonder how would be a brainstealer dragonborn.

* Don't you miss a class linked with dragons? like the dragon shaman or dragonfire adept (or the prestige class dragon disciple), but I would rather the concept of dracolyte. Subclasses? All you want.

The planar dragons shouldn't be forgotten. There are enough space for them.
