WotC WotC reported 50% growth over 2020!

I am in complete agreement on this.

But it would involve two changes to D&D:

1: No Hit Point Bloat. The game would have to go to a E6 play model at the least. A E3 play model would be better.

2: The spell list would have to be gone through with a fine tooth comb, and rethought from the ground up. The purge movie franchise would have nothing on me if WotC let me at it...

This would lead to: Utter Revolt.

I would ever after be known as the guy that killed D&D. And the worst game designer of all times.

The D&D player base likes their D&D the way they like it. They don't want a new edition, or any kind of 0.x revision. Yes, the current edition has a few issues that could use a fix. But if you fix it; don't change anything! Just make it better than it was before...

I dont know if it true but ive read they did a bit of polling during 4th ed and 5th ed beta about what players wanted and D&D easy mode was the result. People may say they are fine with a PC dying for good but it has to be an extraordinary circumstance.. like a ton of hp and 3 saves to avoid it. I mean jeeze it takes 3 failed saves to turn to stone.

All I have ever seen from those was WotC earnings always reported as a single division.

They may say Magic this or D&D that has done well, but, they never give a bottom line breakdown on how much each Ip brings in.

But I would happily stand corrected if the info is in there somewhere.
Ask and you shall receive. You just need to do a little research and use some google-fu.

So I wasn't able to parse the latest earnings report, but I can find information for the end of 2020. According to Forbes, Magic made $581.2 million in 2020. ICv2 notes that WotC made $816 million in sales in 2020. D&D would then be $234.8 million. I don't think there is anything else that comprises the WotC unit.

And for completeness, the segment is called WotC and Digital Gaming. Digital Gaming brought in $90.7 million. While this is not for this recent year, you'll soon be able to know how much each segment made in 2021 when they report the growth or loss compared to 2020.

I rebel in my own way. I ignore lore and rename anything from the realms since they don’t exist where I play.
I don't know about rebelling, but I've always (well, since 2e) ignore and change lore I don't like and do whatever I want when it comes to fluff.

Whoa! Thanks! Will you do this for 2021?

And I think Crossovers are awesome. I think it's cool to see things from one setting interact with something from another. What are your issues with it?
The more tied together they become, the more it obliterates the uniqueness of each. Imagine Star Wars and Star Trek completely merged into a single property with nothing new or uniquely either Trek or Wars going forward. While it may be cool and interesting initially, that will quickly fade as fans of each begin to realize what was lost. The unique things about each of them. MtG is cool. D&D is cool. But they don't need to have overlap. They don't need to co-mingle. The more each property is shoved into the other, the less unique each becomes.

I care(d).

I find the concepts, in non-shared universes, extremely unneccessary.
Everything involved in TTRPGs and games like M:tG are technically unnecessary. It's completely unnecessary to the world at large for D&D to exist. Doesn't mean that it's bad if it's technically "unnecessary".
