This is being billed in an emailed announcement entitled "Learn Everything That’s Happening This Year for Dungeons & Dragons" as the "first ever D&D Direct", so presumably there are more planned.

The D&D Team at Wizards of the Coast is excited to debut D&D Direct, a jam-packed thirty-minute video presentation on April 21 at 9:00 AM Pacific Time.

Tune in to see exclusive reveals from the world's greatest roleplaying game, including video games, entertainment, and more, guided by hosts Anna Prosser and B. Dave Walters.

D&D Direct will be broadcast on the D&D YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/DNDWizards) and Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/dnd) channels.

To find out more on D&D Direct go to dnd.wizards.com and follow the official D&D social media accounts for more updates.

See you on April 21 at 9:00 AM PT for the first-ever D&D Direct!

I remember the video where Ellewick Tumblestrum said anything about X-Box when she visited our world. I guess that wink was because there is some deal between Hasbro and Microsoft. If Hasbro was with Microsft and Disney with Apple, then... what about the licences of Star Wars and Marvel, to Mattel?

In the past I mentioned the idea of a videogame about Dragonlance to reintroduce the franchise in the current market to the new generations.
@LuisCarlos17f you keep mentioning in your posts about the Star Wars and Marvel licenses with Mattel. What are you talking about? Hasbro has Star Wars and Marvel licenses for action figures and other toys.

Mattel does not come into the conversation.

<Edit> And sorry everyone else for taking this off topic.

Cheers :)

LuisCarlos likes to speculate about crossovers. Any and every potential crossover.

And yet…that’s an image of the full art and layout of a print book…on a tablet. Maybe they’ll reformat DDB to appear more like the actual books.
I use DDB a little bit, but I would really love to be able to buy PDFs. If Wizards wants to get some of my spending money for digital products, that would be the best ticket.

That said, I believe the image of the page with the Ancient Red Dragon shown on the tablet was released way back in a preview package for the Monster Manual. So they could have opened their Facebook post in the tablet:
Not to burst your bubble -- no one would be happier than me to buy PDFs -- but I tend to be pessimistic about this. :-\

Possibilities are pretty wide open, since this is a new approach. Magic Jason the advantage for early announcements, due to their much longer product development cycle: in August, they already knew what the last card set released in 2022 would be, whereas WotC probably hasn't finalized next year's schedule yet. I think we may get a road map for this year, though, because I think Winninger wants that to be a little more transparent than they have been, with all his teases.

I think a few things in 2023 & 2024 are solid, like that 5.5e is coming (not 6e however). It could be for the up coming D&D year as it were (a road map for April 21st, 2022 to April 21st 2023 roughly for example, plus 5.)

Plus a vaguer more general sense of what sort of things they are currently working on, but not ready to announce yet because it's not a lock yet is possible, like how Ray said that they are working on 1 more classic setting for next year plus 2 new settings & a revisited setting for 2024, but when he mentioned them, he made it clear they were going well, but weren't "safe" yet, nor did he name or detail them. Something like that might happen here for 2023 and 2024, not an announcement for those projects (well maybe the safe ones by now), but a general updating on their progress since he last mentioned them and some new stuff they just started working on, especially setting wise.

Winninger laid out in rhe studio blog that 13 months, start to finish, is the usual time frame for D&D books. Anything next Summer is still in very early stages. I wouldn't expect much padt Christmas.
