They'll be using it to reveal stuff about upcoming D&D projects (including video games and entertainment). The video will be presented by Anna Prosser and B. Dave Walters.

This is being billed in an emailed announcement entitled "Learn Everything That’s Happening This Year for Dungeons & Dragons" as the "first ever D&D Direct", so presumably there are more planned.

You know, even though I played in FR a fair amount back in the day, I never had the FR 2e box or the 3e setting book. That being said, I was always surprised that a number of people have told me they preferred the 3e book to the 2e box.
I had the original gray box, a later box (with the "Adventuring Quarter" in Waterdeep) and the 3E book.

They were all very useful. The 3E book is fantastic. I still use it.

Could we a trailer or a teaser of the action-live movie? Maybe pictures of the characters. Or they could talk about a new project, for example a teleserie, maybe in Paramount+, but also in Netflix or in Disney+... or in Amazon!

WotC could publish a graphic novel of Dark-Sun, because they would have total creative control, about the design of clothing and those things.

What about to publish a comic of D&D with any pages of "crunch"?

If there is several projects of videogames, they shouldn't be a clone of BG3, Newerwinter Online or Dark Alliance. Today the online multiplayers are a risky bet.

While I in no way mean to diminish the Spelljammer fandom, I suspect this is what everyone feels their favorite old setting needs to "do it justice". I could say the same about Planescape - minus the ship figures, of course.

I don't think you're wrong, I just think you're describing the inevitable Beadle & Grimm's version.
Put me down for a Beadle & Grimm's Spelljammer box set with ship minis!

I have a hard time imagining Spelljammer in a box on Target shelves, but the world is weird.
Did the Strahd: Revamped box end up on Target shelves? I wonder how (what I suspect was the relatively sluggish) sales numbers for that would impact their decision to do more non-starter boxed sets.

I don't recall seeing it there. I have no reason to suspect the sales were brisk or sluggish? But it does show that boxed sets are something WotC is open to...
