These aren't technically the D&D cartoon heroes -- it appears that they're listed as Paladin, Cleric, Wizard, Fighter, and a Rogue. But they are clearly very heavily based on them.

Eh, I would have preferred Diana as "monk", but who said they needed to be single-classed?

Out of the LJN figures, there was a cleric, Mercion - but she's in the Valor's Call mini set (and she was blonde-haired, had a pegusus tabard and a double-headed mace/staff). I have no idea who the raven-haired blue cleric is supposed to be.

I wonder if the 4 that are present were/are the most popular? I don't know.
I wouldn't be surprised. Hank and Diana were the heroes, Eric got all the best sarcastic lines, and Presto got all the best jokes.

Sheila usually got the short shrift in all of the scripts - she had the problem of her powers being passive and they compounded it by making most of her personality be about how she related to either Hank or Bobby. Bobby was the token little kid - I think he was the one that kids were supposed to identify with but he was a 10 year old kid as imagined by 50 year old men and was usually more annoying than not.

That's a good point. I always loved Diana (even when I was a little kid) and I remember being disappointed that while she was always 2nd in command, she didn't get more room to shine.

But Sheila did always get shoved to the side, and that's too bad. I never minded Bobby, but if I had to rank them all from my favorite to least favorite the only character that might come in worse is Hank. And Hank's issue was just that he was too generic even for my 7 or 8 year old self, despite having the coolest weapon.

I'd snap buy this for the nostalgia factor if it just included Sheila and Bobby too. I can understand why they wouldn't include Venger, Dungeon Master or Uni, although those would all be obvious choices if they did a second set (though I doubt any of them show up in the Stormwreck starter set).

Oh well.

I'll probably still buy it anyway.
