D&D 5E Companion Thread to 5E Survivor - Weapons

To make military forks and tridents a bit different in my game, I had each tine do 1d3 damage. So a military fork does 2d3 damage and a trident does 3d3. It isn't like doing a d3 is hard - buy one or use a D6 and 1-2 = 1, 3-4 = 2 and 5-6 = 3!
I really like this solution.

One day, I hope to actually play DnD.
i'd like to see the meteor hammer return, and just in general for weapons to play around with the reach property more with weapons that aren't either the whip or a polearm

i could see it being statted something like:
Meteor Hammer - 1d10 bludgeoning - heavy, reach (5ft), two handed
so basically just a bludgeoning copy of the glaive/halberd/pike.

Saw a couple more I have in my notes, mainly for flavor purposes. Khopesh for the Egyptian-descended culture (because players expected it, ahistorical or not). And the war scythe for a few Death gods (again, because the player requested it.) Now that I think of it, that's why the spiked chain and repeating crossbow are in there, also...

Legend
I’m currently upvoting the Warpick because it was the signature weapon of my Dwarven Avenger in 4e. He had been raised by jewelers in a city filled with Elves and had developed an appreciation for the hard work needed to create and maintain beauty… Thus, he was a follower of Correlon, as odd as it was for a Dwarf. Since he was protected by Divine Power and didn’t need armor, he fought bare-chested (usually oiled too…) and had his chest hair shaved in the shape of the Star of Correlon! I thought the mining theme of the two handed pick fit better than a big sword or big axe for him. He was fun to play!

Isn't a khopesh a fairly hefty weapon? More an axe than a sword? I dunno if I would describe it as a Finesse weapon :p

why am i not surprised to see the rapier already getting downvoted into oblivion? y'all just hate that it's the only half decent finesse weapon available, it's basically proof you're afraid it would win if you don't kill it quick. ;)

The rapier is getting downvoted because it's incredibly overused. Seems like every character with a Dex bonus owns at least one.
that's not an inherent fault of the rapier itself though, more due to the fact that there aren't any same tier alternatives for melee dex, when your only other options are also all 1-handed weapons that deal less damage and b/s/p is basically irrelevant of course you're going to pick rapier if you're proficient in it and one is available to you.

look i recognise that DEX is a bit of a god stat in 5e and finesse weapons shouldn't quite be on the same level as STR weapons because of that but i do think there should be more viable alternatives for your dex weapon if want to melee. so a fun game for everyone, what mid-to-high-tier finesse weapons would you add and what stats would you give them? here's my go:
Nunchuck, martial weapon
damage: 1d6 bludgeoning
properties: finesse, versatile (1d10)
other: compatable with shillelagh
yes i'm aware i skipped a whole damage die, i don't want this to be as good as the rapier one-handed but i want it better at the cost of using two hands.

Is a two-handed requirement really that much of a sacrifice, though? Arguably the nunchaku would be used mostly by monks for thematic reasons, and they don't use shields anyway and can make off-hand attacks with their feet, knees, elbows, etc.
