D&D (2024) Playtest 7 survey is now live.

I think we're done with the majority of classes, barring nip/tucks and balancing issues. We might see a few revised subclasses or alternatives offered, but there isn't much left for the rogue or wizard to test unless they somehow bombed so badly they have to redesign them from the ground up. The only classes that need major work done are monks, bards, and warlocks, and maybe paladin if "use 2014 smite" isn't the fix they opt for.

I want the spell balancing UA already. We got two packets left and there are too many broken or awful spells that haven't seen any work.
Sucks how monk, the class needing the most fixing, is the one which has basically been ignored this playtest.

There are a lot of minor annoyances, as I've been looking more closely at the past playtest documents that I really hope are quietly taken out back and erased. Even when there are things I like, they go and add something I dont like at all, and its just leaving me very meh.

5e classes fall into three broad categories: classes that are perfectly fine and only need a light touch (wizard, paladin, cleric), classes that have a few problems, but they can be fixed with minimal effort (the bulk of the classes) and those who have systemic problems that needed extensive work done (druid, warlock, sorcerer, monk, ranger). Those latter classes are getting a punt because they decided they aren't making major changes to them, so they will do what they can to prop them up where they can.

Those Classes have all received significant overhauls. None of the Classes is broken or.non-functional, the point is to improve them not.replace them.

How many of the 8 wizard school subclasses have we seen with this new look they just showed us? I've only seen Abjurer, Diviner and Evoker. That leaves 5 more there.

They've taken waaaaaaaay too long in-between packets and are out of time, which is not good. WotC has bungled their time management.

They were never going to design all 8 wizard subclasses. There will only be 4 in the book. UA7 has Abjurer, Diviner, Evoker, and Illusionist, because there will only be 4 subclasses per class.

They certainly took a hit on timing because of the delays at the beginning of the year and are a little behind. But I think they'll be ok. I'm not sure if they'll need multiple serious iterations of DMG and MM design.

Four: Abjurer, Invoker, Diviner, Illusionist. And we're not getting the other four in the PHB this go around.

Sorcerers got Innate Sorcery and related abilities and more spells. Good, but not much to fix the problem of being second fiddle to the wizard.
Druid was punted on for wild shape, save for the removal of Temp HP shenanigans. I guess they can use longswords and wear half-plate too.
Warlock is still trying to figure out how to be a caster, a gish, a spell sniper, a mouthwash, a floor wax and a dessert topping, along with the fact they need constant timeouts to recharge.
Monk is actually weaker than in 2014 and burns di-points to do anything other than punch twice.
Ranger is ok; I guess they fixed it in Tasha's and said "eh, good enough"

Do they all work at the table? Yeah, mostly. I would still guess that they are the bottom tier of satisfaction. But at this point, they are what they are.

Apparently the new Ranger was a gigantic shift in satisfaction, based on the survey responses. The others are all being changed in big ways, and are doing fine.

Yeah I didn't think it was possible, but they decided to nerf monk. Then again first rogue playtest they nerfed it too, and it was already on the weaker end.

Trouble is, monk didn't get a first playtest, so the danger is that this version was close to the final product.
