D&D General Companion Thread to D&D Survivor: Dragons, Metallic

What made you go with an Amur tiger as opposed just a tiger or any other big cat for your analogy?
Partly its just because every time I see this dragon I think big tiger in the Siberian wilderness. The art for these dragons gives them a more cat-like body to me. Their more fierce and possessive tendencies, coupled with their desire to be the most feared and/or respected in their lands just makes me think of stories (both real and fictional) of the Amur tigers that I've read about and watched videos on. I know White Dragons are also big bad tundra dragons but I've always seen them more like icy crocodilians with their love of ambushing prey from the water or snow banks.

Also I just really like Amur Tigers a lot. 😁

I'd argue they are more akin to blue scaly Amur (Siberian) Tigers then anything. They are hefty looking though.

Believe it or not, this is my desktop background. I don't have any special love of this type of dragon per se, I just love how this specific picture looks.

My D&D/tabletop/writing folders sit on the dragon's shoulder.

Well dragons in D&D do have a scaly, feline build. ;)
Indeed they do, and that's generally my preference. I prefer the four-legged, two-winged dragons with a build somewhere between "big cat" and "dire wolf." I dislike the "wings used as forearms" type of dragon, they just don't appeal to me.

As for silver dragons: They're definitely one of my favorites, for all the reasons listed. I just like gold dragons more because they're regal, and substitute a love of crass material riches for a love of intellectual riches, of wisdom and knowledge. Where silver dragons have prodigious "elder sibling" energy, gold dragons have prodigious "professor uncle" energy. If you're having a problem, odds are good they already know, and are halfway through implementing a (for them) hands-off fix for it. Engaging in conspiracies of light. That sort of thing. The invisible hand trying to guide the world toward something genuinely better, but under the world's own power.

Hey, don’t get sad at me just because I’m retaliating to you voting down my favorite. It will just insure I will mercilessly vote down your favorite from here on out.
