My guess is it might be a combination of:

1) He who remains is dead....puts a lot of things in perspective.
2) She just saw Timely have some clear romantic feelings for Renslayer, and likely He who remains was above all that, so it stirred the pot a bit.

It parallels the end of episode 4 of season 1 where Loki got pruned. I was expecting a mid-credits scene to hint at what happens now (as we got in season 1), but I guess this is too big to hint at. I look forward to episode 5 to see where things go from here.

Prediction 2: Loki drops through a supercollider into Earth-1610 and wonders why everyone around him are cartoon characters.
