D&D (2024) Rogue's Been in an Awkward Place, And This Survey Might Be Our Last Chance to Let WotC Know.

That is why I would like to see CON removed as stat and it's mechanics moved to STR.
Then you can have DEX as primary stat(maybe little reduced options for melee weapons) but if you dump STR you will be a glass-cannon.

also, ALL armor should have min STR score, starting with 10 for +1 AC, 12 for +2 AC, 14 for +4 AC, 16 for +6 AC, 18 for +9 AC, apply max DEX and/or stealth penalty as you see fit.
Great idea, ty for this.

A strong fighter jumping isn't competing with misty step, he's superior to it since it doesn't use up a precious slot.

It provokes opportunity attacks and uses movement though. When I am using misty step it is usually to leave without causing an AOO or to move a greater distance without using my action.

5e does not have AoOs, it has OAs that in comparisonare almost implausible to provoke in combat

In which case there is literally no need for the fighter to jump at all. Outside of combat where there are pits, ravines, etc., jump and climb are both generally superior to misty step since they don't use up resources.

Edit: Jumping also isn't vulnerable to the commonly encountered counterspell.

10 should be min for any armor that gives some AC bonus

if you want iconic 8 str weak wizard, you can wear iconic +0 AC robe.
Nah. The weak rogue is also a trope. And I can see weak clerics. Wizards would need not only the 8 strength, but also proficiency with light armor, which they do not get as a class.

if you have all armor have STR requirement and you are not generous with low STR, then armor proficiency can be removed also.
maybe some classes/races can have "armor adaption" that is, they count their STR as 2 pts higher for using armor.

also, weak rogue is a trope, and they are most welcomed to have magic robes for protection.
