Raza Thulcandra


Raza sighed as Solace continued her explorations of the closet (how big could one closet be?) and Brinn and Kamael headed off in a totally different direction. She walked through the broken bones, in a large circle around Kago who had yet to move off somewhere else, until she came to the skull of the minotaur. She sat on its monstrous, bony brow and looked up at Kago.

"A planet with many moons is strong, stable, eternal. Comets may shoot across the skies in blazes of glory but they all are eventually lost in darkness." She shrugged her bag off her back and dropped it next to her feet. She rooted around in it until she pulled out some dried food that she had found in the Drow fort. "Fish?"

Kago looks at Raza cautiously, and slowly takes a small piece of her offering. He nods his thanks as he takes a bite. Kago is not much for friends, but he is finding the halfling a useful companion indeed.

Raza gnawed bits of salted fish for several long moments enjoying the companionable silence she shared with Kago. She didn't mind that he was the silent type; too many men, in her opinion, were too fond of hearing themselves speak. Eventually she scooted herself off the skull and approached Shuushar and offered him a small bit of fish.

"It would be better if it were fresh..." She shrugged and glanced over towards Kamael and Brinn but her eyes lingered on the water. "Shuushar, do you know these waters? Is there fish, or anything else edible in them?"

The salted fish offered by Raza was not good. It was, however, sustenance. Raza and Kago chewed, musing silently on the fish's awfulness. Perhaps it would be better were it to be soaked in water and de-brined.

Raza and Kago could make out Kamael, Brinn, and Stool across the stream. The trio was emblazoned by a halo of brightly gleaming light. Kamael extracted a set of caltrops from his pack and shoved one or two beneath the bottom of the grey woodlike door. He didn't bother to attempt to open the door. The remainder of the set of caltrops he left on the packed dirt floor in front of the door, a surprise for who- or whatever might attempt to exit through the door or pass that way in the dark. His task done, Kamael straightened. Brinn had kept a careful watch and had additionally cast a querulous look around this part of the cavern. Brinn could tell, and Kago--with his orc eyesight--could, too, that the stream flowed from the northeast toward the southwest and cut at an angle across the cavern. It looked like there might be an opening to the northeast, just at the edge of what Brinn's and Kago's eyes could perceive. Other than that, neither Brinn nor Kago could make out any other notable terrain feature, at least not from their present positions. Raza's darkvision petered out just at that moment. It held long enough for her to discern the space to the northeast, and then all was once again dark.

No one found any food.

OOC: The caltrops are in place. Raza's darkvision ended, [MENTION=40413]GlassEye[/MENTION]. Several of you have detected an open area to the northeast, by the stream. Kamael noted there were two other areas to the south of the ladder...one to the west, the other a tunnel on the stream's east bank. Where is it that you guys want to attempt your long rest?

Unsteady on her feet, Solace casts a small Light spell inside the hidden chamber so that she can see the colours of the stone. She admires the craftsmanship, but realizes that she may have just lost a few seconds -- she is still dizzy.

She pokes her head out of the small room, and sees two of her companions. "I've found something here," she says, before poking her head back. She thinks about it, and tries again, "Is everyone alright? I don't see the others." When she hears some affirmation, and is perhaps joined by others, she returns to the inner chamber, and attempts to discern the purpose of the inner chamber.
 



OOC: She's called for help; and waited to see if people follow. She's casting light in the inner (star) room, and then entering the star room cautiously.
 

Kago joins Solace at the entry to the star room. Noticing that she is still injured, he touches her shoulder. "Gruumsh calls to you. Take heed. It is his will that you are with us still."
