The Untamed Wilds: Caravan Campaign

Closing Current Business

"Agreed," Sannit answers. "With that and what we found in the wilds we are well compensated for that trip. We did find a piece of the white metal, although we did not tell that to the Maldrog. Is there anyway we can find out what it is so we can know what we're dealing with?"
Giodavi nods as everyone agrees.
Good. Good. I will look into this developing situation with Asylim and see what I can learn.

As to the ingot of metal, if anyone in town might identify it, it would be the blacksmith.

Lyndha, I know, wanted to speak with you when you returned. I doubt she knew you were here yet or she would have come by. I'm sure you will want to visit the shop tomorrow anyway. Good Night. Happy Hunting
.
As the Seekers are leaving the tavern, Sheldon inquires of Saemund about his own parents only to learn that they too had entered the city and not returned. On a good note Saemund conveys that Indigo's and Sannit's mothers stayed outside and were well when he departed.

Once outside Sheldon verbally runs though the known tasks.
Indigo and I are fine with tying our hammocks on the property we have aquired, so we will not be renting a bunkhouse for the night. We do, however, plan to visit the bathhouse before we sleep. To my knowledge we have several tasks that need tending while we are in town.
  • We need to see the Carpenters' Guild about our extra pack animals.
  • We need to see the Blacksmith about the metal ingots.
  • We need to visit Lyndha at the Trade Store.
  • We need to see Raven about the skins
  • and see about getting Saemund better armor.

Have I forgotten anything
?
OOC: I know there is not much for Saemund to do yet, but that will change as soon as the Seekers conclude town business and start on their next mission.

Merin asks Giodavi about Boga City:

"What is the armor and weapon selection like in Boga City? Isn't Boga supposedly the largest trade hub? Specifically, I have been thinking about the rarity of metal in most areas. Metal armor would hold up better than skins. Are we likely to find that amount of metal there? I'm not talking about mass quantities for sale; but if The Seekers could outfit themselves with metal gear, we might be able to reduce our rate of serious injury."

Giodavi Responds to Merin

I have not been to Boga City, but it would stand to reason that if metal were more available there, the caravaners would have had it by now.

The only people I have seen with even pieces of metal armor have been the two Mhytre Clans that entered town.

Talk to the blacksmith. He may be able to give you better ideas

Sannit nods to Saemund. "Thank you for that good news." He looks around at the rest of the Seekers. "If we had not left the caravan, it is likely we would all be dead. I'll have another drink for the fallen, and for the survivors." He has his mug refilled and hoists it.

OOC: 2nd pine vine -2 clams

San-Bolo and Turtle camp on the property, also eating and bathing and all that stuff.

Here in a relaxed setting Bolo attempts to contact other members of the Seekers with way over a distance.

Turtle eats scraps from the inn and then follows Bolo back to camp. This place smells too much like humans. He would rather be in the forest.

When Merin notices what Bolo is doing, he will politely (if she doesn't mind) join in, for he sees great value in the ability to have unspoken communication.

GM: Knowing the proximity of other members of the Seekers is one of the constant tasks, very similar in function to sensing danger. Bolo and Merin find that they can draw the attention of any other member as long as they are within range but only within line of sight, contact cannot be made radially. They also determine that the attention of a stranger can be acquired, but that person is confused by the process and looks around cautiously.

OOC: no Bolo doesn't mind, that's exactly what she was going for, practicing telepathic communication with the group in a non-stress environment

In the morning when we are ready to conduct business we can split up the meetings with the blacksmith and Raven, but we should all be there to talk to Lyndha and the carpenters guild.

Bolo is excited to introduce Turtle to Lyndha.

Day 29: Morning: Business about Town

GM: Everyone receives 2 XP for conveying the information about the Copper Vein, even Saemund as he is now part of the group.

OOC: After a peaceful night's rest, the Seekers head to the Boar's Head for some breakfast before setting about the business in town. It is decided to start in order of least importance, so that after breakfast the group takes the pack animals and heads to the Carpenters' Guild. The last task will be to contact Lyndha at the Trade Store.

Sheldon adds -
Since we are trying to learn more information about metals and metal armor, I think we might all want to see the blacksmith as well.
GM: The Carpenters are elated at the prospect of acquiring more pack animals and offer 1500 in value for the four beasts until the Seekers give a demonstration of what their training has accomplished. It is shown that the animals require no tether and that they can be verbally commanded to perform tasks of several words.

The Guild members are thoroughly impressed and at about an hour's time call all the other carpenters to see and work with the animals. It is negotiated that the Seekers will rotate some of their animals with those of the Guild to insure proper training and handling. The Guild in turn offers to credit the full owed second installment of 2500 clams for the service and animals.

The Seekers retain 3 pack animals for their own use.
