D&D Direct is a 30-minute video which WotC will be releasing on April 21st at 9am Pacific Time (5pm BST, if I have my time zones correct). They'll be using it to reveal stuff about upcoming D&D projects (including video games and entertainment). The video will be presented by Anna Prosser and B. Dave Walters.

This is being billed in an emailed announcement entitled "Learn Everything That’s Happening This Year for Dungeons & Dragons" as the "first ever D&D Direct", so presumably there are more planned.

The D&D Team at Wizards of the Coast is excited to debut D&D Direct, a jam-packed thirty-minute video presentation on April 21 at 9:00 AM Pacific Time.

Tune in to see exclusive reveals from the world's greatest roleplaying game, including video games, entertainment, and more, guided by hosts Anna Prosser and B. Dave Walters.

So Mike Shea says that a contact of his says that the presentation is a half hour long but the whole event is an hour and a half.

Makes sense. Why say something in a half-hour when an hour-and-a-half will do? At a guess, the relevant stuff will be at the end.

They had the Vecna crossover modules to explain how things changed and why.
Not for Forgotten Realms. There's nothing in the 3e FR material that even mentions Vecna or the events of The Vecna, The*. FR just has a different cosmology without any explanation. The Simbul is now a Sorcerer rather than a wizard, because "sorcerer" is a closer approximation of what she "really" is. Things like that.

I disagree with folks saying Spelljammer is going to be an adventure primarily, I think it's going to be like a cross between Van Richten Guide and Eberron Rising from the Last War. This is their chance add more cultural diversity to the game, so they will add new Crystal Spheres to the the setting. There might be a tie in to Radiant Citadel, like more details or at least locations on a space map of the home worlds/crystal spheres of the various founding civilizations of the Radiant Citadel.

also they need plenty of space for setting lore, different kinds of Spelljammers, Monsters, Races, possible subclasses & magic items, etc..., which will likely only leave room at best for an intro adventure.

Yes Minsc and Boo are likely going to be named as the in setting "authors" of the book, but that is just 90% marketing like Tasha, Volo, Xanathar, Fizban, Mordy before them. At best it will be a teaser about the duo appearing in a later book like Tasha appears in Witchlight, Mordy and Volo appear in Waterdeep, and Fizban likely in the DL book.

As for Minsc and Spelljammer connection, aside from Boo-), Minsc it is commonly believed to eventually be added as a playable origin character in Baldur's Gate 3 with its clear Spelljammer ties (Nautiliod).

Have you seen the artistic style of the box? I thought it would be inspired in East-Asian as a wink for a future Kara-Tur but I may be wrong. Of course it is not medieval Gothic, but more furnitures from XIX century. It makes me to remember Chinese style, but I wonder about if now it is the right time because in Shangai is happening something...

I doubt New-Capena to be adapted to D&D when there are other titles as better options.

Spelljammer and Dragonlance are going to return as player's handbooks, because UA published playtests about "crunch" (races and subclasses). Spelljammer could be a mini-setting as Stryxhaven, because I don't remember an UA playtest about subclasses for Spelljammer. If Planescape comes back, we should see an UA about PC races. Maybe we should see a story-arc linked with Sigil, or a compilation of adventures linked with the infinite stair or like this.

There are different projects about videogames. Maybe one of them it is about Ravenloft, why not a survival horror? My advice is to avoid a saturation of online services because you need a mininum number of players spending money all months to keep the servers. We shouldn't see a new MMO because there are two and it is a market with lots of rivals.

Yeah, I expect some Adventure material, but I think Rising from the Last War is a good comparison as it is the other 5E Setting product from Chris Perkins.
