Of course I will switch! It’s like the old Malibu Stacy but with a NEW HAT!

It will be shiny and hot, new art, slight adjustments that will make monsters easier to use, consolidated character options. I’m a sucker for these things!

The real question will be whether we revert back to 5e 2014 after a few months try.

I am really sorry. But what you call errata has a 2 year research and development phase. It has a lot of new art and a lot of people employed. Just calling it errata is disengenious.
Just wanting someone to do all that work for free is quite egoistic.

I'd actually say it has a 10-year research and development phase, not 2.

I'm really glad it has new art, and I'm glad that WOTC is able to employ folks.

That doesn't change the fact that for my wallet I'm not interested in a half-measure edition.

I would gladly pay the $150+ that WOTC wants me to spend on a new edition that takes a swing, makes some risks, and throws in new ideas.

I am not interested in spending $150+ on 5E, again, with some shiny new bells and whistles.

Nope, I'll continue roleplaying 5e with my group, and wait and see if my DM makes the switch from 5e to 5e2024. For now, I would like to continue building up my A5e collection by backing The Planestrider's Journal and the Monstrous Menagerie 2 when they launch. :)

To early haven't seen the books.

Do it basically depends on them and what the others decide. Prices here might be horrific as well.

So

1. Price
2. Quality
3. General consensus.

Tldr maybe.

If you like it, buy it. If not, don't. But it is not something they owe you.

People with the "I want everything for free" mentality are an actual reason why small producers struggle. If you want people to do the job for you*, pay them.

*if it is just errata, make your own houserules to fix it. Should be a simple thing.

They're rewriting classes, spells, feats. It's essentially repackaged errata.
