WotC got sued, can't remember the details

Heh! Its not the Siembieda family thats the most fun... Go over to the rules forum and post a question about the rules not working for such and such a thing and sit back for 15minutes. (not that Im encouraging trolling, at the time I just wanted a straight answer) hooooboy! I think the lines...

    Optimization: Are "options" a trap?

The rules and the editions are there to move merchandise, however it is completely your choice to use whatever is between the covers. Take what you want and leave the rest or houserule. 1: Anybody that needs to justify some combination of a half dozen PC classes and PRC's as being a theme...

WotC got sued, can't remember the details

The old Cyberpunk system as well and more crappy Rifts supplements than you can poke a pole at. I didnt mind the CP2021 setting so much, unfortunatly it was riddled with stuff that made it a nightmare to run unless you physically punched the hell out of your PC's every now and then for being...

Mounts for an Epic Dwarven Paladin

Paragon Badger. :) Be nice to him though or he'll probaby kick your arse and half the party if you rile him up. Aside from that, its one of the few templates that have enough thump to live through an epic encounter.

    Playing alone, with 6 people

Have a quiet word to the GM, phonecall or email out of game and tell him to pick on the other layabouts. Its pretty common and youre not the only one who's been through it in roleplaying history, Ive had it, one of my good friends who I introduced to DnD has this problem as well. Lots of bodies...

What did you do during TSR's dark days of '97

rofl :D At least you didnt become a LARP'er or run around wearing black clothes pissed drunk thinking you where Robert Smith... or something else cliche'd and emminently worrisome. Not that I'd know anything about the above... *cough*

Which classic setting should be get a 3.5 update next?

I'd second that, the setting needs more than "core books" and if nothing else, 3.5 conversions of previous material.

What did you do during TSR's dark days of '97

By about 1996 our group had pretty much gotten jack of 2E, we'd propped that wobbly wagon up with a lot of house rules but eventually it crumbled into a steaming pile of crap. After that we went back to other game systems we'd liked and knew held up to a few years of constant campaigning without...

Help with player with Foot in Mouth disease

Ah just let him get into trouble, be somewhere else healing the sick and injured next time you hit town and be as far away as possible. After a few deaths, maimings and sound beatings he might learn, if not, just have him wake up in a pine box dressed in a leather suit with some redneck...

    Savage species experiences

Its not a bad attempt by Wotc to make these 'critters' playable but sadly the whole HD-ECL-CL is by far and large, the possibly most stupidly misunderstood thing in gaming since 'THAC0' to explain. There is a way to fix ECL to make player characters 'less' of being a paper tiger but Im keeping...

    I die. a lot.

Im kinda 'lucky' in a sense for PC deaths as Im pretty slow to make up something I like to play and dont have a lot of character active or ideas for new ones, though on those odd occassions its always a case of a critical success followed by a pathetic demise after. As an older player Im tend to...

TSR's Comics and the Buyout by WotC

Interesting read, sure would be nice to see those comics as I'd never heard of them before now. I reckon Argentina if history is anything to go by....

A Essay -- The Knight vs. the Samurai

Yeah your're probably right about the carbide getting stress fractures and dying a splintery death, I remember all too well destroying enough drill bits in the past. Titanium from memory also suffers the same fate due to its hardness but I've got no working knowledge of how it would be tempered...

What campaign setting do you use?

Most of the DnD is played in Greyhawk, though over the years its probably closer to a home-brew due to the depredations of PC's over the last 10 years or so. Our group is comfortable there so we're not likely to change, though with the high level's theres the odd bit of venturing into other...

Killing your best friend for treasure

Actually it reminds me of a game many years ago where this one GM just loved his Knight Errant sourcebook for Shadowrun and made a point of having each and every one of these a-holes being a combination of SAS mixed in with the prophet of Delphi and it got pretty fuggen annoying. So he railroads...

A Essay -- The Knight vs. the Samurai

Kevlar is a ballistic fibre armour and it cuts quite easily with a pocket knife or a pair of scissors so you wouldnt be entrusting anything to it in a knife fight. While we're on the train of thought, its interesting to note the widespread issue of what is essentially 'plate armour' on the...

A Essay -- The Knight vs. the Samurai

You'd be surprised at how ineffective for the most part archers where, I did a little research for a character awhile ago that was going to be an archer. Its a mixed result. Sometimes they would get astounding results like at Agincourt where they turned an entire battle almost by themselves and...

Uncle Bunky Psychotic clown with a meat cleaver which a pathological hatred of anyone shorter than he was. Ever 30mins I'd roll a D8 and pick a new alignment. It would take too long to give you a list of Bunk's adventures, but lets just say it involved a lot of homicide on an epic scale. He...
